2024 Mercedes Benz E Class Breaks Cover All You Need To Know

2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class breaks cover: All you need to know

Mercedes-Benz India has unveiled the much-anticipated sixth-generation E-Class, a sedan that has consistently been a bestseller for the brand. Since Mercedes-Benz entered the Indian market in the 1990s, the E-Class has been an outstanding performer and a leader in its segment, despite experiencing various ups and downs. The all-new V214 E-Class, a long-wheelbase sedan, is set to make its official debut in October 2024. Here's what you can expect from the new-generation E-Class.

Design: A Refined Elegance

Mercedes-Benz has refined the iconic E-Class design, presenting it with pristine, wrinkle-free exteriors akin to a perfectly tailored crisp Italian suit. The front grille is adorned with additional chrome embellishments and numerous three-pointed stars. The new E-Class boasts sleeker LED headlight clusters, a broad front fascia, and pronounced character lines on the hood, delivering a subtle yet commanding road presence.

The side profile of the new E-Class epitomizes the fusion of classic design with modern principles. From this vantage point, the sedan's length of over 5 meters is evident, showcasing its substantial size that echoes a Maybach-like structure, particularly with the classy rear quarter window glass. For added robustness, the E-Class is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels.

At the rear, the E-Class captivates with star-shaped LED tail lamps and a radiant chrome strip that extends above the lights. An additional touch of chrome graces the lower part of the rear bumper, a detail likely to delight many Indian consumers.

Interior: A Technological Marvel

Entering the cabin, the cockpit evokes the feel of a spaceship from a science fiction film. The new luxury sedan boasts a 14.4-inch central infotainment system complemented by a 12.3-inch display for the front passenger. The high-resolution displays in the E-Class are comparable to an LED TV. The vehicle includes digital air conditioning vents with savable settings, a 17-speaker 730 W Burmester sound system, a selfie camera for photos and videos, a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, and wireless phone chargers for both front and rear passengers.

The rear seats are equipped with advanced features and comfort. The seats provide unparalleled support, particularly the extended thigh support from the 40 mm longer seat squab. The E-Class also features a Chauffeur Package, allowing rear passengers to adjust the front passenger seat for increased legroom electrically. The E-Class maintains its strength with 510 liters of luggage capacity.

Engines: Petrol and Diesel Options

The E-Class continues with options for both petrol and diesel engines. The 2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine delivers 201 bhp and 320 Nm, reaching a top speed of 233 km/h. The diesel variant produces 194 bhp and 440 Nm of torque. Both engines are equipped with an integrated mild hybrid system providing an additional 23 bhp and 205 Nm and are mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Competition: Challenging the Rivals

The E-Class is set to compete with its traditional adversaries, the BMW 5 Series and the Audi A6. The Mercedes-Benz sedan is anticipated to be priced at a premium, around Rs 83 lakh, which is Rs 15 lakh more than the Audi A6, priced between Rs 66.26 lakh and Rs 70.79 lakh. The newly introduced 5 Series LWB is on offer for Rs 72.90 lakh, all ex-showroom prices.

Overall, With its refined design, cutting-edge technology, and uncompromising comfort, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is poised to continue its legacy as a segment leader in the Indian luxury car market. As the launch date approaches, enthusiasts eagerly await the arrival of this latest iteration of the iconic E-Class.
