There are several ways to check a challan issued in Madurai.
The traditional method is to visit the RTO and enquire with the assigned officer.
The easier option would be to visit the Parivahan website and enter one of the following - Challan number, Driving Licence number, or Vehicle number. Enter the captcha and hit the 'Get Details' button to view the challan. One can find a list of the challans issued.
Alternatively, one can also visit the Tamil Nadu Transport and Road Safety website and go to the Citizen Services page. From here, one can choose the e-Challan option and enter the Challan/Vehicle/Driving Licence number to view the status of the Challan.
Just like shopping for goods, challan payments can be made online or offline.
Offline Mode: To pay a challan offline, one can visit the Madurai RTO and provide the challan copy and pay in cash. Another way to pay a challan offline is with the help of a traffic policeman having a challan machine. You can show the hard copy of the challan and make the payment.
Online Mode: Alternatively, one can visit the Government of Tamil Nadu's Transport and Road safety website.
From the home page, go to the Citizen Services page and choose the 'e-Challan Online Payment' option.
Enter the Challan number, Driving Licence number or Vehicle number and fill in the captcha as seen.
Hit the 'Get Details' option to view the challans.
Select the challan and choose the Make Payment option and complete the payment using the preferred payment mode. Do not forget to note down the transaction ID.
Challan Payments can also be made using the Parvivahan website by entering the Challan/Driving License/Vehicle Number.

Enter vehicle number
Mention your vehicle registration number, and click on the Challan details
Check the E-Challan Status
Now, click on the update button to check the e-challan status
Check & Pay Pending Challans
Once done, check your challan, and pay the pending fees
Receive a confirmation with transaction ID
After a successful transaction, you will receive a confirmation on your respective mobile number along with the transaction ID
Visit the Parivahan Website
Go to the eChallan System Link, and a login page will appear
Click on Get Challan Details
Choose between Challan Number, Vehicle Number or DL Number to mention the car details
Enter Details and Captcha
Details of the Challan (if any) will be shown
Select the e-Challan
