Situated along the Malabar Coast in "God's own country" - Kerala, Kozhikode is the largest urban area in the state, famous for its spices and scenic beaches. But since it is a booming tourist spot, Kozhikode has become increasingly prone to traffic jams, one-way traffic violations, and road accidents.
Kerala is known for handling its traffic violations rather strictly with hefty fines. While these challans may be a problem for motorists, paying them is not. You can now settle your traffic challans online through the traffic e-Challan system. It makes it easier for citizens and tourists to pay their traffic e-challans quickly and go about their day.
There are three ways to check your traffic challan in Kozhikode, both online and offline. The process is relatively easy and will take a minute or two only.
From the main menu, navigate to General Information > e-Services.
From the e-Services menu item, click e-Payment. This takes you to the Kerala Police Department Online Payment system.
Enter your Vehicle Number and click Submit.
Any Unpaid Charge Memos present will be listed.
Visit the Parivahan, an E-challan - Digital Traffic/Transport Enforcement Solution by the Government of India.
On the Parivahan website, you can get your challan details in two ways:
By entering your vehicle number and chassis/engine number.
By entering your driving license number
Follow that with the captcha and click "Get Detail."
Any Unpaid Traffic Challans will be listed.
Head to the nearest Kozhikode City Traffic Police Station with your driving license, address proof, and identity proof. You should be able to find any unpaid traffic challan there.
Regardless of how minor it is, receiving a traffic fine is daunting. Make life easier by paying them online through traffic e-challan systems. Offline payment methods do exist for people who don't want to make online payments. Here are the different methods, both online and offline, by which you can pay your fines.
Navigate to the e-payment system via General Information > e-Services. You will be redirected to the Kerala Police Department Online Payment system.
Enter your Vehicle Number and click Submit for a list of unpaid e-Challans.
Select the e-Challan you want to pay for and click "Proceed to Pay." This takes us to the "Bill Desk."
Choose your payment method option from Credit/Debit/Cash cards, wallets, and Internet banking.
Complete the payment. You'll be redirected to the Kerala Police Department payment system, where you can find the receipt.
Visit the Parivahan, e-Challan system.
Enter your Challan/Vehicle/Driving License Number.
Enter any other information as directed, including the captcha.
Click "Get Details" for a list of Unpaid e-Challans.
Choose one and proceed with payment.
Once the payment is successful, you'll be redirected to the Parivahan website, where you'll find the receipt.
Apart from the online options, you can also choose any of the below options to pay offline.
Pay at the Kozhikode City Traffic Police Station in cash. Ensure that you take the challan along with your driving license, address proof, and identity proof.
Make a cashless payment with a police officer using the handheld challan payment device.
The Motor Vehicles Act 1988, the Kerala Motor Vehicles Rules 1989, and The Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act 2019 provide guidelines for safe and responsible driving practices.

Download the Park+ app.
Open the app and click on 'Login'.
Enter your mobile number and click on 'Send OTP'.
Enter the 'OTP' and click on 'Verify OTP'.
Click on 'Challan' under Services.
Enter Your 'Vehicle Number' and click on 'Check Challan'.

How Can I Pay Challan
Electronic fines replace traditional paper challans and are directly sent to the violator's mobile device or email. However, there are three ways to pay your challan: online or offline
Open Park+ app
Open Park+ app Open Park+ app & Choose Challan as a service
Enter vehicle number
Mention your vehicle registration number, and click on the Challan details
Check the E-Challan Status
Now, click on the update button to check the e-challan status
Check & Pay Pending Challans
Once done, check your challan, and pay the pending fees
Receive a confirmation with transaction ID
After a successful transaction, you will receive a confirmation on your respective mobile number along with the transaction ID
Visit the Parivahan Website
Go to the eChallan System Link, and a login page will appear
Click on Get Challan Details
Choose between Challan Number, Vehicle Number or DL Number to mention the car details
Enter Details and Captcha
Details of the Challan (if any) will be shown
Select the e-Challan
Get details of the offence and penalty to be paid
Proceed with the Payment
Upon successful completion, you will receive a confirmation along with the transaction ID
Visit traffic police station
Visit any traffic police station in your locality
Carry valid documents
Carry your Identity Proof, Driving Licence and the letter of traffic violation (either printed or screenshot/ PDF)
Pay fine
Submit you fine
Get a receipt
Pay via Cash and get a receipt
You can check the status of the challan via the Parivahan website, the Kozhikode city police website, or the Park+ app or website.
Your traffic e-challan should be paid within 60 days from the date of issue.
If you fail to pay the e-challan within the stipulated time, you�ll be called to court for clarification, where you can make your settlement.
No, you do not need to register with Parivahan to check your e-challan status.
Only a traffic police officer with a rank of sub-inspector or above is authorized to collect an imposed traffic fine.
Once issued, a traffic e-challan cannot be revoked, but it can be challenged in court.
You should always carry your driving license, RC book, and vehicle insurance with you when driving.
