Kerala, the spice garden of India, is also home to one of the country's worst traffic situations, with 4000 deaths and 40,000 injuries reported every year.
With most of the roads in Kollam, a city in Kerala, remaining damaged, congested, or unusable, traffic is a real and constantly deteriorating problem. Although the authorities are constantly working to improve the situation, any radical change in the traffic situation in the city seems like a distant possibility. Poorly designed traffic signal systems, as well as a complicated web of national highways crisscrossing the city, make it worse for commuters who have to wait in long queues in traffic now and then.
Under such circumstances, road accidents and unruly road behaviour by drivers become the norm, as do traffic challans. Today, thanks to the Parivahan Sewa, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, you can pay the fine even online via the E-Challan facility.
There are different ways you can check the status of your challan in Kollam. You can do that both online and offline. Below are some common methods:
Parivahan Sewa website/app
Park+ website
Using the Parivahan website, you have to click the 'Check challan status' option in the menu and then fill in the challan number, vehicle registration number, and captcha. Once done, click on the 'Get details' tab for a review of your challan status.
