Ajmer, surrounded by the Aravalli range, is a popular pilgrimage place for people of diverse faiths. But, with hundreds of thousands of people making their way to this bustling city, fondly known as the heart of Rajasthan, a significant amount of traffic chaos is to be expected. Pair that with the rough condition of the roads and the poor street lighting, and it is safe to say that driving here isn't the smoothest experience.

To ensure this doesn't translate to general disobedience surrounding The Rules of the Road Regulation (1989), the challan has come into being. Keeping track of such a large number of vehicles is not possible manually, but e-challan, guided by the surveillance of CCTV cameras, has made penalizing traffic offenders a lot easier.

How to Check Challan in Ajmer?

If a driver is caught violating traffic rules and regulations, then the traffic policeman will stop them and hand them a traffic challan, an official document with details about the rule(s) they violated and the penalty/fine they're liable to pay for the offense.

If the driver was issued an e-challan in Ajmer, they'll be notified via text. They can check the status of their e-challan in two ways:

Via the Rajasthan Police Website

1. Click on Challan Search on the Rajasthan Police website.

2. Enter Challan Number. You can use your Driving License number or vehicle number if that isn't available.

3. Click on the search icon. Your challan status - complete with details about the offense and the fine/penalty, will appear on the screen.

Via Parivahan

1. Visit Parivahan's e-challan website.

2. Enter your challan number and click on Get Detail. If you don't have it on hand, you could use your vehicle number or driving license number; that should work just fine.

3. A list of your challans will appear. Select the one for which you want to check the status, and then browse the details that appear.

How to Pay Challan in Ajmer?

There are two ways you can pay challan in Ajmer: online and offline, smoothening the process of challan payment for ease of convenience: both for the public and govt.

If paying online:

1. Visit the official Parivahan's e-challan webpage.

2. Input your challan number/vehicle number/driving license (DL) number.

3. Enter the Captcha, and click on Get Detail.

4. A list of challans and details of your offense, including the amount to be paid, will appear.

5. Scroll down to find the button and select the mode of payment (Debit/credit/net banking), add in your details, and complete payment.

6. Once done, you will receive a confirmation message along with the translation ID. Keep it safe for future reference.

Alternatively, you can visit the Rajasthan Police website to make the challan payment:

1. To pay your Ajmer traffic police challan, enter your challan number, vehicle number, or your driving license number. If you don't have these documents, you can get your traffic e-challan details by entering your full name and date of birth.

2. A list of your traffic challans will appear. Click on the pending ones and make the payment.

3. Once you're done, you will receive a confirmation receipt for the same.

If paying offline:

Visit the nearest traffic police station - one that has an electronic challan machine, with your challan number and driving license, and settle your challan dues.
