There is barely any other 4x4 SUV in a budget as popular as the Mahindra Thar. Boasting its Jeep inspired boxy looks, the Thar in its second generation made quite the leap and progressed as a lifestyle oriented off-roader. It still doesn't qualify as the only car in your garage because it was never aimed towards practicality and holistic use involving family duties and work commutes. That said, for a hardcore off-roader that can take you pretty much anywhere and feels upmarket enough with its drivability and all the features it packs in, the Mahindra Thar is as close as it can get.
