Following the introduction of the VW Virtus, the Volkswagen Group has remained mute. However, Skoda, its sibling firm, introduced the new Kylaq to the nation.
In contrast, Skoda plans to introduce the updated Kodiaq, Superb, and Octavia vRS in India in the upcoming months. Volkswagen has not yet disclosed the confirmed launches for India, though.
Volkswagen Golf GTI
VW announced earlier this year that the new Golf GTI would be available in India.
According to industry sources, VW may introduce the new Golf at any point in March 2025 or before the end of February 2025.
We can anticipate premium pricing as the car will travel to India via CBU routes. Speaking of which, the forthcoming VW Golf GTI is anticipated to be on sale in Mumbai for about Rs 50 lakh.
A 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 261 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque will power the hot hatch. A seven-speed DSG gearbox will be in charge of the transmission tasks.
Other Plans of Volkswagen
Now, the brand will introduce more vehicles in India in addition to the Golf GTI. Based on the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen has unveiled the new generation Tiguan Allspace worldwide. The seven-seater SUV will make its debut in India. The debut date has not yet been formally confirmed, though.
In addition, VW has hinted at the VW Tera, its first small SUV. The Tera is simply an SUV that is based on the Kylaq from Skoda!
Once more, it has been made public in a few international countries, but the debut date in India is still unknown!
Lastly, a Creta-sized SUV is anticipated to be the German behemoth's entry into the EV market. The teaser is out already & the launch is expected in 2027.
Conclusion
In general, it is anticipated that Volkswagen will introduce its international goods to India by the end of 2025 or early 2026. For the rest, it will introduce the Taigun and Virtus facelifts in India. These vehicles will get new features thanks to the facelift! Both vehicles are anticipated to go on sale in the second half of 2025.
