Top 5 Affordable SUVs in India That Come with 6 Airbags as Standard

Safety is no longer a luxury! Here are five budget-friendly SUVs that offer six airbags as a standard feature, making them a great choice for safety-conscious buyers.

SUVs have taken over the Indian car market, accounting for more than 50% of total passenger vehicle sales. With safety now a top priority for car buyers, manufacturers are equipping their SUVs with more advanced features.

One of the key upgrades in recent models has been six airbags as a standard offering, providing enhanced protection to all occupants.

The Affordable SUVs with 6 Airbags

Here’s a look at five of the most affordable SUVs that ensure safety without breaking the bank.

1. Hyundai Exter – The Most Affordable SUV with 6 Airbags

The Hyundai Exter stands out as the cheapest SUV in India to come with six airbags as standard. But safety isn’t all it offers. The compact SUV also boasts electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, vehicle stability management, and hill start assist.

It is available in petrol and CNG variants, powered by a 1.2-litre engine delivering 82 bhp (petrol) and 67.7 bhp (CNG). Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and an AMT.

Price: ₹6.00 lakh – ₹9.48 lakh (ex-showroom)

2. Nissan Magnite – Feature-Packed & Value for Money

Nissan’s Magnite was among the first SUVs in its segment to offer six airbags as standard. It comes equipped with a 360-degree camera, vehicle dynamic control, traction control, and hill start assist.

Available with two engine options, the 1.0-litre NA petrol makes 71 bhp, while the 1.0-litre turbo petrol pushes 98.6 bhp.

Price: ₹6.12 lakh – ₹11.72 lakh (ex-showroom)

3. Skoda Kylaq – The Newest Entry with Best-in-Class Safety

The Skoda Kylaq is a new entrant in the compact SUV segment but already stands out for its robust safety features, including hill hold control, electronic differential locking, and brake disc wiping.

Powered by a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, it churns out 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Price: ₹7.89 lakh – ₹14.40 lakh (ex-showroom)

4. Hyundai Venue – Safety with ADAS Features

The Hyundai Venue brings in a Level 1 ADAS system, in addition to six airbags, electronic stability control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

It offers three engine options – a 1.2-litre petrol, a 1.0-litre turbo petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel. The diesel variant is the most powerful, producing 114 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.

Price: ₹7.94 lakh – ₹13.53 lakh (ex-showroom)

5. Kia Sonet – A Sportier Take on Safety

Built on the same platform as the Hyundai Venue, the Kia Sonet brings a more premium and sporty experience. It shares all safety features with the Venue, including Level 1 ADAS and a 360-degree camera.

Price: ₹7.99 lakh – ₹15.70 lakh (ex-showroom)

Conclusion

With rising safety standards and customer awareness, six airbags are no longer limited to premium cars. These five budget-friendly SUVs ensure that safety is accessible to everyone without compromising on style, features, or performance.

If you're looking for an affordable, safe, and feature-packed SUV, any of these models would be a great choice. Which one would you pick?
