Skoda has recently released teasers for the second-generation Kodiaq SUV on social media, hinting at a near launch. Unveiled officially for the Indian market at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the SUV will be produced locally within the company's Aurangabad, Maharashtra, plant, and the new Skoda Kodiaq will be launched for an Indian debut.
Interior and Exterior Design
The teaser reveals a model that resembles the first-gen version to some extent, but with some differences that also include matrix projector headlamps and LED DRLs, of which the latter features an LED bar placed across the front grille and is linked to two extreme points of the front bumper. At the back, the new-gen Kodiaq receives new tail lamps with a connected light bar and 4x4 badging.
Internally, the SUV receives leatherette trim, dual digital screens with a floating centre touchscreen, an updated aircon panel, three-zone aircon, and a panoramic sunroof. The steering wheel also receives a two-spoke design, and the cabin also receives ambient lighting. The Kodiaq will have a three-row seat configuration.
Mechanicals
While the global version of the Skoda Kodiaq receives a wide range of engines, the India-bound model will feature a 2.0-litre, TSI petrol engine, capable of producing 188bhp and 320Nm torque. The combination will be mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission and a 4x4 system.
Safety features
The India-spec Skoda Kodiaq will have eight airbags as a standard fitment across all variants. The SUV will also receive ABS with EBD as a standard feature across the range.
Conclusion
With the second-generation Skoda Kodiaq now officially launched at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, its soon-to-be-launch in the Indian market is creating a lot of buzz. Equipped with the latest design updates, a feature-packed interior, strong performance figures, and cutting-edge safety features, the locally produced Kodiaq is set to further cement Skoda's place in the premium SUV market.
