Tata & Mahindra To Launch Three Large SUVs in November 2025

Three significant launches that reshaped the ICE and electric segments of the SUV industry in India made November 2025 a historic month. While Mahindra added two noteworthy models to its EV lineup, the sporty BE6 Formula E Edition and the three-row XEV 9S, the eagerly anticipated Tata Sierra made a comeback in a contemporary, feature-rich guise. These releases give consumers more options across a range of price points and reflect the growing desire for cutting-edge design, a variety of engine options, and future-ready technology.

  • Three major SUVs were introduced in November 2025 by two of the top Indian automakers.

  • Important details on the Tata Sierra, Mahindra BE6 Formula E Edition, and Mahindra XEV 9S, including pricing and launch schedules.

The Tata Sierra has returned and been redesigned for modern consumers after years of anticipation. Launched on November 25, the new Sierra is a mid-size SUV that targets competitors like the Maruti-Suzuki Victoris, Kia Seltos, and Hyundai Creta. The starting price is only ₹11.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Customers can select from three different powertrains. A 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 106 horsepower and 145 Nm, a 1.5-liter diesel engine produces 118 horsepower and 260–280 Nm, and a 1.5-liter TGDi turbo-petrol engine produces 160 horsepower and 255 Nm.

A triple-screen dashboard, linked LED DRLs, 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and a 12-speaker JBL audio system with Dolby Atmos are among the many goodies found within the Sierra. The SUV is based on the ARGOS platform, which Tata plans to utilize for upcoming electric, hybrid, or CNG models.

Delivery is expected to begin on January 15, 2026, with bookings starting on December 16.

Mahindra BE6 Formula E Edition, a Perfect Mix of Sporty and Electric

Inspired by its Formula E race team, Mahindra revealed the BE6 Formula E Edition, a limited-edition electric SUV, on November 26. The pricing ranges from ₹23.69 lakh to ₹24.49 lakh.

With its sleek LED DRLs, projector LED headlights, dual spoilers, 20-inch alloy wheels, and racing-inspired graphics, the BE6 Formula E Edition is visually striking. It has dual 12.3-inch screens, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos, dual-zone climate control, a 360° camera, blind-spot monitoring, bright orange highlights, and Formula E branding inside.

Performance-wise, the BE6 boasts an exceptional 682 km range for an EV in its class thanks to a 79 kWh battery that powers an electric motor that generates 282 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque.

Reservations begin on January 14, 2026, and deliveries are anticipated on February 14. Mahindra has also promised special benefits to early buyers, such as a track experience and name engraving on the first 999 vehicles.

India's First 7-Seater Electric SUV, the Mahindra XEV 9S

The introduction of Mahindra's XEV 9S, the company's first three-row electric SUV, was a major surprise. The XEV 9S is priced between ₹19.95 lakh and ₹29.45 lakh (ex-showroom) based on its specialized INGLO platform.

The XEV 9S delivers different power and range depending on the battery pack. The top 79 kWh pack has 286 bhp and a stated range of 679 km, while the base 59 kWh pack has 231 bhp and 521 km. The 70 kWh pack has 245 bhp and 600 km.

Connected LED headlights and taillights, 20-inch alloy wheels, flush door handles, a triple-screen dashboard with two rear screens, a panoramic sunroof, ADAS, high-end Harman Kardon audio, and sliding-reclining second and third-row seats with a "Boss Mode" for added comfort are among the features of the XEV 9S.

The SUV's test drives are set to start on December 5, with reservations opening on January 14 and delivery commencing on January 23, 2026.

Why These Launches are Important

From a cost-effective, feature-rich SUV (Sierra) to performance and style via EV (BE6 Formula E) and a family-friendly, three-row electric SUV (XEV 9S), these three launches demonstrate how Indian automakers are meeting a variety of needs.

From everyday commuting to family vacations or EV-first owners, purchasers now have more options in terms of price, powertrain, and usage.

Even while ICE is still essential, these announcements highlight the growing significance of EVs in India's automotive future. Soon, aggressive launches and competitive pricing could be expected from additional manufacturers.
