Land Rover has unveiled the fully electric Range Rover Sport and opened its order books in India.
The flagship luxury EV features a massive 118.5 kWh battery pack producing 542.5 bhp, offering a claimed real-world driving range of over 500 km.
Land Rover has opened bookings for the Range Rover Sport Electric in India. It is the first fully electric version of the Range Rover Sport and has been developed with a dual-motor powertrain, all-wheel drive and a large battery pack.
The India launch date and official prices have not yet been announced. The electric SUV will be available alongside the existing petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid versions of the Range Rover Sport.
Range Rover Sport Electric Powertrain and Performance
The Range Rover Sport Electric is powered by a motor producing 542.5 bhp and 850 Nm. It is paired with a 118.5 kWh battery pack, while the claimed range stands at 609 km.
The advertised real-world range is 533 km. The battery uses an 800V architecture and is described as a high-density unit enclosed in an aluminium case. The electric SUV supports DC fast charging, with the battery claimed to charge from 10 to 80 per cent in 22 minutes.
The battery also comes with an eight-year or 160,000 km warranty. It has been tested for multi-axis vibrations and thermal shocks between -45°C and 90°C.
Range Rover Sport Electric Off-Road Capability
The electric SUV gets several systems that help manage traction and vehicle control across different driving conditions.
Intelligent Traction Management: Helps manage wheel slip by adjusting power delivery according to available grip.
Adaptive Air Suspension: Adjusts the vehicle's ride height and suspension response according to driving conditions.
Electronic Active Roll Control: Helps control body movement during cornering.
All-Wheel Steering: Helps improve manoeuvrability at lower speeds and stability at higher speeds.
Range Rover Sport Electric Variants
The Range Rover Sport Electric will be available in four versions: Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE, Autobiography and First Edition.
The First Edition gets a Zadar Grey finish with Satin Wrap, a black contrast roof and 22-inch tyres.
Customers choosing the Autobiography version can also opt for a Bespoke commissioning service, which offers a range of colour and material choices.
Range Rover Sport Electric India Launch
Bookings for the Range Rover Sport Electric are now open in India, but the launch date has not yet been announced. The SUV's claimed 609 km range, 118.5 kWh battery and 542.5 bhp motor will be among its key specifications when it arrives in the Indian market.
