Nissan Magnite Facelift Teased Ahead Of October 4 Launch New Design Same Powertrains

Nissan Magnite Facelift Teased Ahead of October 4 Launch – New Design, Same Powertrains

Nissan has released the first teaser of the facelifted Magnite, with its official launch scheduled for October 4. This marks the first significant update to the compact SUV since its debut in 2020, aimed at refreshing its appeal in the fiercely competitive sub-4-meter SUV segment. The facelift promises a new front-end design, upgraded lighting elements, and redesigned alloy wheels, further enhancing the Magnite's bold and distinctive styling.

What’s New in the Magnite Facelift?

The teaser hints at subtle yet impactful changes to the car’s exterior. A reworked grille, new bumper design, and updated LED headlamps and tail lamps are expected to be part of the new facelift package. The Magnite’s signature design elements, like its rugged stance and sharp lines, will likely remain intact, with the updates focused on giving the SUV a fresher look. The facelift is also expected to introduce new alloy wheel designs, adding a modern touch to its side profile.

Inside the cabin, Nissan may introduce minor upgrades to the feature list, though the Magnite was already packed with features at the top-end trims. The compact SUV is expected to retain its spacious and practical interior, with potential additions like an updated infotainment system, improved upholstery, and new color options. However, no drastic changes are anticipated in the overall layout or design of the cabin.

Powertrain Options Remain Unchanged

While the design and features are getting a refresh, the powertrain lineup will remain the same. The updated Magnite will continue to be powered by two petrol engine options. The lower variants will be equipped with a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine, available with a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT. The more powerful 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine will also be carried forward, paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic. These engines are shared with its sibling, the Renault Kiger, and provide a solid balance of performance and efficiency.

Nissan’s Revitalisation Strategy

The Magnite facelift is part of Nissan India’s broader revitalisation strategy, which aims to bring five new models to the market in the coming years. The first model under this plan was the X-Trail, while the Magnite facelift is second in line. Nissan is also planning to introduce a two-row C-segment SUV, a three-row SUV, and a compact electric vehicle, speculated to be an EV version of the Magnite.

With no new launches for nearly three years, Nissan is banking on the refreshed Magnite to regain momentum in the highly competitive sub-compact SUV segment, where it will take on rivals like the Maruti Brezza, Renault Kiger, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Mahindra XUV300.

The facelift will play a crucial role in Nissan’s efforts to attract more buyers and strengthen its foothold in the Indian market.
