Nissan Magnite Facelift 2024 Launched In India At Rs 6 Lakh A Bold Step Into The Future

Nissan Magnite Facelift 2024 Launched in India at Rs 5.99 Lakh: A Bold Step into the Future

Nissan has officially launched the highly anticipated Magnite Facelift 2024 in India, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the brand in the competitive compact SUV segment. Priced at an introductory Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the first 10,000 buyers, the updated Magnite is expected to turn heads with its refreshed design, enhanced features, and a range of options suited for a variety of drivers. The facelift arrives in six variants and offers two engine options, with both manual and automatic transmissions, giving customers a versatile lineup to choose from.

Exterior

The 2024 Nissan Magnite comes with significant upgrades to its exterior, making it stand out on Indian roads. Nissan has revamped the front fascia with a bold new grille and sleeker chrome inserts that lend the SUV a premium, more upscale look. The redesigned alloy wheels further enhance its road presence, giving the compact SUV a sporty yet elegant appearance.

Moving towards the rear, Nissan has retained the overall shape of the tail lamps but has refined their internal elements to give them a fresh, modern look. The use of LED lights and chrome accents adds to the visual appeal, ensuring that the Magnite remains distinctive in a crowded market.

These design upgrades aren’t just cosmetic. They signal Nissan’s intent to position the Magnite as a key player in the highly competitive compact SUV segment, directly rivaling established models like the Maruti Brezza, Toyota Taisor, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Fronx, and Mahindra XUV3OO.

Interior

While the exterior has received notable updates, the cabin of the Nissan Magnite Facelift 2024 remains largely familiar, with minor yet meaningful improvements. Nissan has introduced a new steering wheel, which feels more ergonomic and offers better grip, enhancing the driving experience. The touch surfaces and upholstery have also been refreshed with new color schemes, giving the cabin a more refined and contemporary feel.

A key highlight of the fully-loaded variants is the impressive array of features, which includes a 360-degree camera, wireless phone mirroring, LED headlamps, LED DRLs (daytime running lights), and powered mirrors. The inclusion of a height-adjustable driver’s seat and HEPA air filter further enhances comfort, while modern touches like wireless phone mirroring appeal to tech-savvy consumers. These features, combined with Nissan’s focus on practicality, ensure that the Magnite is both comfortable and convenient for long drives and city commutes alike.

Engine Options

The 2024 Nissan Magnite Facelift continues to offer two engine options, catering to a wide spectrum of driving needs. The first is a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine that produces 71bhp and 96Nm of torque. This engine is paired with either a five-speed manual transmission (MT) or a five-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). For those who prefer a more spirited drive, the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine is available, delivering 99bhp and 160Nm of torque. This variant comes with either a six-speed manual transmission (MT) or a continuously variable transmission (CVT), offering a smooth and responsive driving experience.

These options allow the Magnite to cater to both budget-conscious buyers looking for an efficient city commuter and those seeking more power and performance for highway driving.

Competition

Nissan’s bold design choices and enhanced feature set position the Magnite as a formidable rival in the compact SUV market. Competing against heavyweights such as the Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Mahindra XUV3OO, the Magnite is poised to attract a wide range of buyers, from first-time SUV owners to those seeking a more affordable yet feature-rich option.

What makes the Magnite stand out, aside from its attractive price point, is its balanced approach to design, performance, and features. Nissan’s focus on offering value for money while not compromising on essential features makes the Magnite a strong contender in this increasingly crowded segment.

Future Plans

The launch of the 2024 Magnite is just the first step in Nissan’s four-pronged strategy for the Indian market. Over the coming months, Nissan plans to introduce a two-row C-SUV and a three-row C-SUV, both of which will be derivatives of the latest-generation Renault Duster and the upcoming Dacia Bigster. These models are expected to further strengthen Nissan’s presence in the SUV segment.

In addition to these SUVs, Nissan is also expected to launch an electric vehicle (EV) based on the Magnite platform, underscoring the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility. This EV will likely appeal to a growing number of environmentally conscious consumers looking for affordable electric options in India.

Conclusion

With the 2024 Magnite Facelift, Nissan has not only refreshed one of its most popular models but also set the stage for a broader push into the Indian automotive market. Offering a compelling mix of style, technology, and affordability, the new Magnite is poised to be a game-changer in the compact SUV segment.

As the first of several new products Nissan has planned for India, the Magnite Facelift signals the brand’s determination to regain its foothold in the market. With more SUVs and an electric vehicle on the horizon, Nissan is gearing up to be a major player in India’s automotive future.
