Nexon and Punch led Tata Motors' robust year-over-year sales rise in November 2025.
Certain small automobiles demonstrated cooling demand in comparison to October, but SUVs and larger models gained popularity.
With 57,436 units sold domestically in November 2025, a year-over-year rise of more than 22% over November 2024, Tata Motors performed admirably in the Indian passenger car market. Strong SUV demand, especially for Tata's Nexon and Punch models, which continued to be the brand's top sellers throughout the month, was the key driver of this increase.
Punch and Nexon Rule the Charts
With 22,434 units sold, a 46% increase from the previous year, the Tata Nexon, including its electric version, was the top performer and remained one of India's top-selling passenger cars for the third consecutive month.
The Tata Punch came in second with 18,753 sales, up 21% year over year, as consumers' preference for small SUVs persisted. In a nation where utility cars are still quite popular, this impressive success highlights Tata's SUV-led approach.
Different Models' Performance
SUVs outperformed other vehicles in terms of increases. Due to a change in demand following the holiday season, the Tiago tiny hatchback sold 5,988 units, a slight gain over the previous year but a significant drop from October figures. In a similar vein, the Altroz experienced robust year-over-year growth, but at a slower pace than the previous month.
The Harrier shone out on the higher end, selling 3,771 units with a sharp 174% YoY increase, probably due to updated features and a strong demand for SUVs. At 1,895 units, the Safari also saw strong growth.
The success of Tata's more recent models, however, was uneven. While the Tigor sedan continues to struggle with only 488 sales, the fashionable Curvv compact SUV witnessed a dramatic decline in sales, with 1,094 units, a considerable decrease from last year's total.
What This Signifies for the Momentum of Tata
Overall, Tata Motors' November 2025 figures show a good year-over-year increase, mostly due to its SUV range and the high demand for models like Punch and Nexon. Total sales decreased marginally from October as demand returned to normal following highs during the holiday season, but overall, Tata is still in a strong market position despite fierce competition.
Tata's emphasis on SUVs and its expanding electric vehicle footprint indicate that it might maintain momentum into early 2026 as the Indian auto market changes, particularly with new launches and revised models in the works.
