MG Motor India has launched its most expensive electric SUV to date — the Windsor EV Pro, with an all-new top-of-the-line variant named Essence Pro. Reservations are now ongoing nationwide, and the launch prices will only be valid for the first 8,000 customers, making it a limited window of opportunity for early birds.
New Battery, Longer Range
The biggest highlight of the Windsor EV Pro is its bigger 52.9 kWh battery pack, which gives a claimed range of 449 km on a single charge. It churns out 136 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque, coupled with a single-motor FWD configuration. This puts it in a big fight against the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 EV in both performance and practicality.
Improved Features and Interior Improvements
The Pro trim also throws in a few top-end features, such as:
15.6-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
8.8 inch digital driver's display
Powered driver seat with ventilation
Wireless charging, connected car tech, and Infinity 9-speaker sound system
Powered tailgate
Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) tech
The interior is also freshened up with a dual-tone Ivory White and Black theme, providing an added premium cabin feel.
Safety and ADAS
MG has also updated the safety kit with Level-2 ADAS, six airbags, ESC, hill assist, electronic parking brake with auto hold, TPMS, and 360-degree camera, all this to enhance safety and assurance in driving.
Price and Battery Rental Option
MG Windsor EV Pro is available for:
₹12.50 lakh with Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) – customers pay ₹4.5/km
₹17.50 lakh without BaaS (battery included)
NOTE: (All prices ex-showroom, India)
Conclusion
With a new design, a stronger battery, tech upgrades with more features, and competitive pricing, the Windsor EV Pro Essence seeks to make high-end electric mobility more affordable and desirable for Indian customers.
