Maruti Grand Vitara Three-Row: Spy Shots Unveil Cool New Upgrades

Fresh spy shots of the upcoming seven-seater Grand Vitara, codenamed Y17, reveal exciting design updates and styling tweaks. With changes in the headlights, tail lamps, and alloy wheels, this new version is gearing up to offer both style and practicality, making it a strong contender in the competitive SUV market.

This spy shot, captured right in front of the plant, hints at big changes and fresh design tweaks. Internally known as Y17, this seven-seater is expected to make its public debut later in 2025.

The plant in Kharkhoda is set to be the birthplace of this exciting new model, which will be positioned just below the Invicto in the Maruti Suzuki lineup.

Cool Design Tweaks to Watch Out For

The new Grand Vitara three-row version brings a host of styling updates that give it a more modern and dynamic look. One of the standout features is the updated daytime running lights.

Unlike previous designs, the lights now have a unique wing-shaped design that is visible, thanks to a lighter camouflage used on the test mule.

The main headlights are also positioned lower on the bumper, lending the vehicle a more grounded and bold stance.

New alloy wheels are another point of interest. They sport a design that sets them apart from those on the five-seat model, contributing to a sleeker overall side profile. Towards the back, the SUV shows off a noticeably longer rear end, typical of seven-seaters.

Although details of the rear are kept under wraps, the connected tail lamps inspired by the e Vitara give a subtle yet stylish nod to the upcoming model’s high-tech influences.

Under the Hood: Powertrain Details

Even with all these external changes, the heart of the three-row Grand Vitara remains true to its roots. The vehicle is built on the same Global C platform as the standard Grand Vitara, which means it will likely keep the same reliable powertrains.

Buyers can expect a choice between a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid variant. These engines have been tried and tested in the current models, ensuring that performance and fuel efficiency stay in familiar territory.

However, it is worth noting that the additional weight from the extra row of seating might lead to a minor drop in performance and fuel efficiency. Despite this, the trusted powertrains mean that owners will still enjoy a smooth and dependable driving experience, whether commuting in busy city traffic or cruising on the highway.

What This Means for Buyers

For potential buyers, the new Grand Vitara three-row is more than just a bigger vehicle. It is a stylish and practical option for families and groups looking for extra space without compromising on design or performance.

The refreshed styling cues and modern design elements not only give the car a fresh look but also hint at a comfortable and technology-friendly interior.

Although the interior has not yet been revealed in these spy shots, earlier reports suggest a redesigned dashboard featuring a large, free-standing infotainment screen that is sure to impress.

The additional seating and spacious design make it a strong candidate for those who need more room for passengers or luggage. With its cool looks and updated features, the new Grand Vitara is set to provide a balance between comfort, style, and functionality that can appeal to a wide range of customers.

Overall, the launch of the three-row variant is anticipated towards the end of 2025. As the first model coming out of the Kharkhoda production plant, it promises not only a new chapter for Maruti Suzuki but also a compelling choice for Indian buyers who value space, design, and performance in their SUVs.
