Maruti Dzire Rules Sedan Sales in April 2025: Check Out the Cool Breakdown!

Unpacking the Hottest Sedan Sales Trends for April 2025, along with the big picture, sales figures, insight, and analysis of the market trends.

The April 2025 sales numbers for sedans in India are in, and guess what?

The Maruti Dzire is still the king of the road. While the sedan market took a bit of a hit this month, the Dzire not only held its ground but sold more than all its rivals combined.

Let’s break it down in simple, fun words and see how the other mass-market sedans stacked up!

The Big Picture

The sedan market in India saw a dip of about 9% in April 2025 compared to March. Total sales dropped from 31,250 units to 28,599 units.

Looking back a year, it’s down by 1.8% from April 2024. But amidst this slowdown, the Maruti Dzire shone like a superstar. Let’s dive into the numbers!

Sedan Sales: The Top Dogs and Underdogs

Here’s how the sedans performed in April 2025, with a quick look at last month and last year:

  • Maruti Dzire sold a massive 16,996 units, which is up 10% from 15,460 in March 2025 and 7% more than 15,825 in April 2024. This champ is unstoppable!

  • The Hyundai Aura almost grabbed second place with 4,224 units. But it’s down 17% from 5,074 last month and 7% from 4,526 a year ago.

  • Honda Amaze moved 2,019 units. It grew 12% from 1,796 in April 2024, but tanked 44% from 3,583 in March 2025.

  • Volkswagen Virtus sold 1,605 units which is down 18% from 1,947 in March 2025, but up a solid 36% from 1,183 last year.

  • Tata Tigor hit 1,296 units (including its electric version), a clear drop of 12% from 1,467 last month and a big 40% from 2,153 in April 2024.

  • Skoda Slavia clocked 1,048 units, which is down 12% from 1,185 in March 2025 and 16% from 1,253 a year ago.

  • The Hyundai Verna sold 1,005 units. Took a 26% hit from 1,364 last month and a 36% dip from 1,571 in April 2024.

  • Honda City struggled with just 406 units. That’s a crazy 65% drop from 1,170 in March 2025 and 51% less than 824 last year.

Why Is the Dzire Crushing It?

The Maruti Dzire is like that one friend who always wins at everything. With nearly 17,000 units sold, it’s clear people love it. Maybe it’s the wallet-friendly price, awesome fuel mileage, or just that Maruti magic that keeps buyers coming back. Meanwhile, other sedans are feeling the heat—could it be the rise of SUVs stealing their thunder?

The Sedan Scene: What’s Happening?

Overall, sedan sales are down, and April 2025 wasn’t their best month. The total drop of over 2,600 units from March shows folks might be eyeing other rides. But the Dzire? It’s laughing all the way to the bank, proving sedans aren’t out of the game yet.

Overall, the Maruti Dzire is the undisputed champ of sedan sales in India for April 2025. While the market took a 9% hit, this beast grew stronger, leaving rivals like Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze, and Honda City in the dust. It’s proof that a solid, affordable sedan still has a big fan base.
