Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to push the envelope in India’s electric vehicle segment with the arrival of two brand new electric SUVs in 2025 - the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV and the Mahindra XEV 7e - that could battle against some of the leading electric SUV offerings in India like the Tata Nexon EV and the Tata Safari EV.
Mahindra XUV 3XO EV: The New Contender Against Nexon EV
The electric version of the recently launched XUV 3XO is on track to be launched in the near future, Mahindra’s already said, though it is yet to announce a date, although our photos show a slightly tweaked design compared to the car’s inline four-cylinder (ICE) engine.
Look out for a revamped front grille, a more sporty bumper and LED daytime running lights in the form of a C — all hallmarks of Mahindra’s electric design language. The SUV is also expected to get aerodynamic alloy wheels for added efficiency.
It will also likely have a freshened digital instrument cluster with electric driving-specific graphics and better materials throughout the interior. This SUV most likely will be powered by a 35kWh battery pack, providing a competitive range and performance that urban commuters will love.
Mahindra XEV 7e: A Premium SUV Built for Electric
The Mahindra XEV 7e is set to take to market in late 2025 as the first vehicle on Mahindra’s INGO electric platform. The premium SUV will be powered by both its ICE companion and the upcoming XEV 9e.
Expect a closed front grille, sports-tuned bumpers and lightweight alloy wheels to give it a sporty look. And inside the XEV 7e we are likely to see the illuminated two-spoke steering wheel, a triple-screen dashboard and all the other luxurious touches seen in the XEV 9e.
The powertrain is likely to be similar to the XEV 9e, which offers impressive electric range (for longer journeys ) and a luxurious driving experience.
