Mahindra Thar Roxx Unveiled A Sneak Peek At The Bold 5 Door Suvs Front Profile

Mahindra Thar Roxx Unveiled: A Sneak Peek at the Bold 5-Door SUV's Front Profile

The Indian exporter and automaker are getting much attention with a new Thar Roxx, a 5-door version of the well-regarded off-road vehicle. Introduced for the release date of 15, August 2024, the new Thar Roxx is expected to progress on the off-road traditions of its 3-door sibling and present some design changes and updates. Previous teasers have given the public a sneak peek into the fine exterior touch the new SUV will receive and some of the luxurious interior features to expect.

A Bold New Look

The latest teaser image reveals the Thar Roxx’s front profile, showcasing a significant design update from the 3-door Thar. The most noticeable change is the new 6-slat grille, which contrasts with the 7-slat grille of the existing model. This grille is split into two sections, giving the Roxx a distinctive and modern look. Complementing this new grille are LED projector headlights with integrated C-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs), which enhance the vehicle’s futuristic appearance. The placement of the indicators and fog lamps remains consistent with the 3-door version, preserving some of the familiar design elements that have defined the Thar’s rugged image.

Interior Enhancements and Features

While the exterior design of the Thar Roxx is certainly eye-catching, the interior promises to be equally impressive. Teasers have revealed a dual-tone black and white cabin theme, with white leatherette upholstery on the seats and contrasting copper stitching on the dashboard. This updated aesthetic is set to provide a more premium feel compared to the utilitarian design of the 3-door model.

The Thar Roxx will be equipped with a suite of advanced features designed to enhance comfort and convenience. Expect a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, paired with a similarly sized digital driver’s display. Other high-end features will include automatic climate control, a Harman Kardon sound system, and a panoramic sunroof. Additionally, the SUV is anticipated to offer ventilated front seats, adding to the overall comfort of the cabin.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Safety is a key focus for the Thar Roxx, with Mahindra expected to equip it with a comprehensive safety kit. This will likely include 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and hill hold and descent control. The SUV may also feature a 360-degree camera for enhanced visibility and parking assistance. On the advanced driver assistance front, the Thar Roxx is expected to incorporate Level 2 ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and autonomous emergency braking, drawing from the technology seen in the Mahindra XUV700 and XUV300.

Powertrain and Performance

Under the hood, the Thar Roxx is likely to offer the same engine options as the current 3-door Thar, with potential enhancements. The SUV will probably come with a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. Transmission choices are expected to include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Additionally, the Thar Roxx may offer both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and four-wheel-drive (4WD) configurations, catering to a range of driving needs and preferences.

Pricing and Rivals

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is anticipated to start at approximately ₹15 lakh (ex-showroom). This pricing positions it competitively against rivals like the Force Gurkha 5-door and provides a larger alternative to the Maruti Jimny. With its blend of updated design, advanced features, and robust performance, the Thar Roxx is set to be a strong contender in the growing segment of 5-door SUVs.

Conclusion

As Mahindra gears up for the launch of the Thar Roxx, the anticipation continues to build. With its new design elements, luxurious features, and expected performance capabilities, the Thar Roxx aims to build on the success of its predecessor while carving out its own niche in the market. Automotive enthusiasts and potential buyers alike will be watching closely as Mahindra prepares to unveil this exciting new addition to its lineup.
