Kia EV4 Unveiled: Your Ultimate Guide to the Cool New EV

Kia is shaking up the EV world with its brand-new EV4, available as both a stylish sedan and a trendy hatchback. Designed for a smooth ride and packed with smart features, this car is all set to wow drivers in Korea and Europe as it leads the charge into a greener future.

Kia is making waves in the electric vehicle scene with its latest launch, the EV4. What makes this car extra exciting?

For starters, it’s available in two cool shapes—a sleek sedan and a practical hatchback.

Yes, you read that right! Kia is trying something new by introducing a sedan version. The EV4 sedan will hit the roads in Korea by March 2025, while the hatchback version will debut in Europe later this year.

Kia’s big boss, Ho Sung Song, explains that the EV4 is a huge leap in their journey to go electric. He believes it’s the perfect blend of advanced tech and versatile style, giving drivers an easy way to switch to electric mobility without compromising on looks or performance.

Cool Design Meets Smart Engineering

Built on Kia’s innovative 400V Electric Global Modular Platform, the EV4 comes in two versions when it comes to battery power.

The standard model packs a 58.3 kWh battery, while the long-range model boasts a heftier 81.4 kWh battery. Imagine that! Both versions are powered by a 150 kW motor mounted on the front axle.

The standard model zooms from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.4 seconds, and the long-range takes a tiny bit longer at 7.7 seconds. Despite these quick starts, both models cap out at a top speed of 170 km/h.

Another cool fact is that the EV4 has an amazingly low drag coefficient of only 0.23 Cd. This means it slices through the air with ease, helping the car go further on a single charge.

Kia promises a best-in-class range of 430 km on the standard version and a whopping 630 km on the long-range version. For those who prefer the hatchback style, the long-range variant offers an impressive 590 km on a full charge according to WLTP standards.

And when it’s time to charge up, the EV4 doesn’t waste a minute. It can go from 10% to 80% battery in just 31 minutes, thanks to an 11 kW on-board charger that works with both single-phase and three-phase power. That’s super convenient for busy lives on the go!

Packed with Smart, User-Friendly Features

The EV4 isn’t just about performance, it’s also loaded with tech that makes life easier and more fun. One standout feature is Kia’s Digital Key 2.02, which lets you start the engine and control various functions right from your smartphone. It can even connect to up to 15 devices, including your Apple Watch. Now that’s what we call smart!

Inside, you’ll find a giant 30-inch wide-screen display setup known as the Navigation Cockpit. This setup is made up of three different screens—a 12.3-inch display, a 5.3-inch screen, and another 12.3-inch panel—all working together to give you all the info you need.

Whether it’s navigation, music, or car settings, everything is just a touch away. And the best part? The system can update itself over the air, so you always have the latest features without any hassle.

Safety First: Driving Made Easy and Secure

When it comes to safety, Kia has loaded the EV4 with a bunch of advanced features. The car comes with Highway Driving Assist (HDA 2), which is part of a suite of driver assistance tools.

These include systems that warn you if you’re getting drowsy, help avoid collisions, keep you centered in your lane, and even assist with parking—all designed to make your drive safer and less stressful.

A cool safety feature is Kia’s Hands-On Detection system. This clever tech checks if you’re holding the steering wheel properly. Just a light touch can tell the car that you’re in control, which helps to deactivate any unnecessary warnings from the advanced driver assistance systems.

On top of that, the EV4 comes with a 12-inch head-up display that projects your speed and navigation details right in your line of sight, so you can keep your eyes on the road.

For extra peace of mind, Kia has added the Driving Package F+ (also known as Drive Wise). This system uses a mix of cameras and radars to watch out for any potential hazards, helping you navigate tricky situations with ease.

Overall, as Kia leads the charge with this fresh electric lineup, the EV4 shows us that the future of mobility is not only green but also incredibly fun and user-friendly. Get ready to experience a new era of driving that’s cool, convenient, and, most importantly, electric!
