Kia India is willing to step up the EV experience with the formal debut of the Carens Clavis EV on July 15, 2025. Not only is this much-anticipated model going to be the first of its kind to be manufactured locally, but also the first three-row electric SUV in its range, and this is going to be a welcome choice for big families wanting to go green.
Battery Options & Performance Specs
The Carens Clavis EV is likely to reflect a lot of the drivetrain of the Hyundai Creta Electric, with two battery pack options:
A 42kWh battery, which has a claimed range of 390 km
A 51.5kWh battery that could provide a maximum range of 473km
On performance, it is estimated that the smaller pack will provide approximately 133bhp and the larger one will provide just 169bhp. These specifications will assist in ensuring that the Carens Clavis EV moves around as a commuting car with enhanced capability to cover long distances and support larger families.
Premium Features on Offer
The Carens Clavis EV will be loaded with a high-end list of features as Kia wants to give this electric car a modern personality.
These could be:
Infotainment and driver console dual digital displays, rear side lamps
Automatic dual-zone climate control rear AC vents
Level 2 ADAS that has facilities such as lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control
OTA Vehicle updates
V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2X and full LED lighting package
Front passenger boss mode seat adjustment
All this is a sign that Kia is looking forward to coming up with a high-value offering and a mix of comfort, space and cutting-edge technology.
Competitive Landscape
The Carens Clavis EV is likely to rival Cars like the Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti e-Vitara, of MG ZS EV in the market after launch. It is also the first to get into the EV market before new electric offerings come out from Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Skoda. An official price unveiling might take place in August 2025.
As launch approaches, the Carens Clavis EV is set to be an ambitious and opportune grab of the new electric vehicle market of India.
