Hyundai Sales Breakup August 2024 Creta Venue Exter I10 I20 Verna Alcazar

Hyundai Sales Breakup August 2024 – Creta, Venue, Exter, i10, i20, Verna, Alcazar

In August 2024, Hyundai retained its position as the second-best-selling OEM in India, just ahead of Tata Motors. However, overall sales saw an 8% YoY decline, with the company selling 49,525 units compared to 53,830 units in August 2023. Month-on-month (MoM), sales were up by just 1%, with 49,013 units sold in July 2024.

Top Performers: Hyundai Creta and Venue

  1. Hyundai Creta was the brand's best-seller, with 16,762 units sold in August 2024, marking a 21% YoY growth. However, MoM sales fell by 3%. The Creta was the third-best-selling car in India last month, with a 22.14% market share.

  2. Hyundai Venue secured the second spot with 9,085 units sold. This represented a 17% YoY decline but a 3% MoM improvement. The Venue lineup was expanded with the S Plus variant, making it the most affordable sunroof-equipped option.

Other Models: Exter, i10, i20, Verna, and Alcazar

  • Hyundai Exter recorded 6,632 units, an 11% YoY drop but a 10% improvement MoM.

  • Hyundai i10 NIOS saw 5,365 units, down by 26% YoY, but a rise from 4,922 units in July 2024.

  • Hyundai i20 sales remained flat YoY with 4,913 units and a similar MoM performance.

  • Aura/Xcent sales fell by 12% YoY to 4,304 units.

  • Hyundai Verna reported a steep 54% YoY decline, selling only 1,194 units.

  • Hyundai Alcazar had 1,105 units sold, marking a 26% YoY drop, but saw an impressive 89% MoM growth.

Low Performers: Tucson, Ioniq 5, and Kona

  • Hyundai Tucson recorded 125 units, down by 47% YoY.

  • The Ioniq 5 EV saw 40 units sold, down by 69% YoY but an 11% MoM improvement.

  • Hyundai Kona saw zero sales in August 2024, down from 91 units in August 2023.

Despite strong sales from the Creta, Hyundai’s overall performance in August 2024 saw a downturn compared to the previous year, with most models posting declines. However, the MoM improvement indicates slight market recovery.
