Hyundai i10 Celebrates 33 Lakh Sales Globally in 18 Years of Success

In a remarkable journey spanning 18 years, the Hyundai i10 brand has crossed the 33 lakh sales mark globally. With over 20 lakh units sold in India alone, the i10 series continues to thrive across generations, adapting to changing customer needs with style, safety, and innovation.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has made a major entry into the 3-member club of big names in the i10 vehicle category. It has sold over 33 lakh units by now since its launch in 2007, recording sales of over 20 lakh units in the Indian market and around 13 lakh units exported to more than 140 countries around the world.

Through the Three Generations

The evolution of the i10 family by Hyundai has been rich and flattering over these 18 years, starting with the original i10, then the Grand i10 and now the Grand i10 Nios.

Through all this evolution, Hyundai has kept on offering some never-seen before segment firsts ranging from the dual airbags, ABS and keyless entry setting precedents in the hatchback segment.

Today the i10 offers three powertrain options namely 1.2L Kappa Petrol Manual, 1.2L Kappa Petrol AMT and 1.2L Bi-Fuel (Petrol + CNG), thus covering the whole spectrum of customer preferences.

Notably, every year, they sell more than 1 lakh units of the i10 in India's market, marking the success of the model over the years.

Grand i10 Nios: A Comfortable Family Car

Introduced in 2019, the Grand i10 Nios is apparently the most desirable entry-level car for numerous Indian families. During FY 2024-25, over 45% of Nios customers represented first-time vehicle owners, of whom more than 83% were married individuals.

Between ₹5.92 lakh to ₹8.56 lakh (ex-showroom) is the spectrum of prices among the five types that include Era, Magna, Corporate, Sportz and Asta.

Besides, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Haryana have been topping the charts of the Prime three markets of the Grand i10 Nios, which strengthens the already consolidating brand as consumer choice.

Strong on the Localization and Export Fronts

At present, the local Grand i10 Nios models have achieved a localization of almost 91.3%, while for that of the export model, the number is at about 91.4%. With this, Hyundai plans to boost its export portfolio to emerging and developed nations with its new upcoming plant in Maharashtra. In such a manner, import of an Indian nation into the global automobile industry will enhance.

A strong legacy coupled with continued innovation is what keeps at the heart of Hyundai's story of success- India and across the globe- the i10 series.
