Honda City Sport Edition Launched at ₹14.89 Lakh

The Honda City Sport Edition, a limited-run variant with blacked-out accents, ambient lighting, and leatherette trims, is now arriving at showrooms across India, aiming to appeal to buyers seeking a fresher, sportier take on the popular City sedan.

Honda Cars India has introduced the City Sport Edition, a limited-run variant of its bestselling City sedan, priced at Rs. 14.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

Just days after its unveiling, dealerships nationwide report that units are arriving for display and test drives, generating buzz among buyers looking for a sportier appearance without mechanical changes.

Design Upgrades

The City Sport Edition stands out through its blacked-out exterior elements. The grille, shark-fin antenna, spoiler, ORVMs, and alloy wheels receive a gloss-black treatment, lending a more aggressive road presence compared to standard variants.

A discrete “Sport” badge on the tailgate further distinguishes it. These cosmetic tweaks give the sedan a fresher personality while retaining the core silhouette that buyers trust.

Mechanical Specifications

Mechanically, the City Sport remains identical to the regular model. It continues with the familiar 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine coupled exclusively with a CVT gearbox in this edition.

This setup produces around 119 bhp and 145 Nm of torque, balancing smooth performance with fuel efficiency. There are no changes to suspension or drivetrain tuning, ensuring that ride and handling characteristics remain in line with what City owners expect.

Colour Options

To complement its sporty theme, Honda offers the City Sport Edition in three exterior hues:

  • Platinum White Pearl

  • Meteoroid Grey Metallic, and

  • Radiant Red Metallic

These shades pair well with the blacked-out accents, enhancing visual contrast. Customers can choose based on personal preference, knowing each color highlights the edition’s distinct styling cues.

Interior Enhancements

Inside, the City Sport Edition gains several feature upgrades. A 7-color ambient lighting system creates a premium mood after dusk, while leatherette trim extends to the seats, steering wheel, and gear knob, elevating perceived quality.

The dashboard retains familiar ergonomics and infotainment layout, but the darker cabin theme and red contrast stitching add flair. Comfort and practicality remain central, with space and connectivity on par with other City variants.

Availability and Pricing

Offered in limited numbers, the City Sport Edition is positioned above the mid-spec V CVT variant, commanding a premium of around Rs. 49,000 over that trim.

Early reports indicate showrooms are receiving allocations quickly, so interested buyers are encouraged to check with local Honda outlets. The introductory pricing and exclusivity may motivate prompt bookings.

Who Is It For?

This edition targets customers who like the proven City platform but desire a distinctive look without sacrificing reliability or resale appeal. Younger professionals and enthusiasts who prioritize style tweaks yet prefer the established 1.5L CVT combination may find this edition appealing. It offers a way to stand out subtly in traffic and at gatherings while maintaining the comfort and fuel economy the City is known for.

In summary, the Honda City Sport Edition brings fresh styling and select feature upgrades to a trusted sedan, arriving promptly at showrooms after launch. With limited allocations, blacked-out accents, ambient lighting, and leatherette touches, it offers buyers a sportier expression of the City without altering its proven mechanics.
