First Tata Curvv Ev Official Teasers Out Ahead Of Launch

First Tata Curvv EV Official Teasers Out Ahead Of Launch

After numerous appearances as a pre-production concept and multiple sightings of test mules, Tata Motors has finally released the first official teasers for the Tata Curvv EV. This highly anticipated vehicle will debut as an electric vehicle (EV), with an internal combustion engine (ICE) version to follow. Let's delve into the details revealed in the teasers.

Key Design Elements

The teaser highlights several design aspects of the Curvv EV:

  • Sloping Roofline: The Curvv EV features a distinctive sloping roofline, giving it a sleek SUV-coupe appearance.

  • Connected Light Setup: The EV boasts a connected light setup at both the front and rear, similar to the Tata Nexon EV.

  • Alloy Wheels: The alloy wheel design is reminiscent of the Nexon EV, with added aero inserts for improved efficiency.

  • Flush Door Handles: The Curvv EV will be the first Tata vehicle to feature flush door handles.

  • Closed-off Grille: As with many EVs, the Curvv will have a closed-off grille, enhancing its aerodynamic efficiency.

Expected Features and Safety

The Tata Curvv EV is anticipated to come with a host of advanced features:

  • Infotainment and Comfort: A 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof.

  • Safety: The EV is expected to include six airbags, a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control (ESC), and Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) with features like lane keep assist, autonomous braking, and adaptive cruise control.

Powertrain Expectations

While Tata Motors has yet to disclose the exact battery and motor specifications, it is speculated that the Curvv EV will offer:

  • Battery Packs: A choice of two battery packs, with a maximum range of around 500 km.

  • Platform: Based on Tata's Acti.ev platform, also used in the Punch EV.

  • Charging and Features: Support for DC fast charging, vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities, drive modes, and adjustable energy regeneration.

Pricing and Competition

The Tata Curvv EV is expected to have a starting price of Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with other electric SUVs like the MG ZS EV and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.

The ICE version of the Curvv will be launched later this year, with an expected starting price of Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom). This version will rival the Citroen Basalt and other popular SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.
