Defender Journeys 2026: Reservations Are Now Accepted for the Greatest Self-Driving Experience in India

Reservations for the fourth edition of Defender Journeys, a premium self-drive adventure program through India's most striking landscapes, are now being accepted by Jaguar Land Rover India. This year's edition, which runs until 2026, offers 23 carefully chosen routes in nine places, from the salt flats of Kutch to the high passes of Ladakh. Participants are invited to drive the Defender 110 across difficult terrain. The experience, run by Cougar Motorsport, promises the renowned toughness of the Defender, professional assistance, and immersive local hospitality.

  • Important information regarding the 2026 "Defender Journeys" is already available in India.

  • Highlights of the program's structure and the 23 off-road, self-drive excursions

Defender Journeys is a high-end, independent adventure program operated by Cougar Motorsport. Driving a Land Rover Defender 110 across some of India's most breathtaking and difficult regions is an opportunity for participants. These are specially curated itineraries with Land Rover Experience instructors, unlike regular tours, allowing drivers to enjoy the excitement of exploration with knowledgeable assistance.

Features of the 2026 Edition

Significant Route Line-Up

  • In 2026, there will be 23 trips available in nine exceptional locations.

  • Ladakh, Spiti Valley, Zanskar, Upper Mustang, Kutch, Druk Yul (Bhutan), the Brahmaputra area, and others are important travel destinations.

  • For instance, in early 2026, the Kutch Journey will span from Udaipur to the Great Rann to Ahmedabad.

Vehicle and Driving Skills

The Defender 110, a sturdy 4x4 with Terrain Response and clever AWD, will be driven by each participant. Each car has a Land Rover instructor for assistance and direction, even if the drive is self-driving.

Vehicles usually accommodate two passengers each, though third and fourth passengers may be added upon request. Convoys travel together by radio transmission.

Reservations, Qualifications, and Logistics

Reservations have just opened for the 2026 edition

  • Jaguar Land Rover India has permitted Cougar Motorsport to oversee the program.

  • Indian natives are required to participate (foreign nationals may be accepted on an individual basis).

  • An instructor will accompany lone travelers; group reservations (up to five cars, ten people) are allowed.

Things to Consider Before Registering

Fuel, tolls, vehicle maintenance, and servicing are all included in the price. The trip may be cancelled if the required number of passengers is not attained; in such a scenario, refunds will be given.

Youngsters should be discussed with Cougar Motorsport; minors 12 years of age and older are typically permitted.

Why It's Such a Big Deal

This is the fourth edition of Defender Journeys, which reflects Land Rover's dedication to adventurous, self-driven travel throughout India. The program provides a special opportunity to test the Defender's toughness not just off-road but also in some of India's most striking natural environments.

From onboard teachers to carefully chosen lodgings, it blends luxury, community, and adventure. The experience is both luxurious and daring.
