Citroen India has also launched the new C3 Sport Edition in an effort to make its entry-level C3 hatchback a hot seller yet again and the new hatchback has already begun to reach dealers in India.
Those features, which include the new look, the improved appearance, some additional features, and a marginally refreshed identity, were rolled out last month in this edition, which aims to provide the car with an opportunity in the already saturated hatchback arena of India.
Dynamic Garnet Red and Dynamic Design Features
The most remarkable feature of the C3 Sport Edition is its new Garnet Red colour, which makes the car stylish and dynamic in appearance. Along with the paint work comes the white and grey decals which run across the front bumper, bonnet, the roof and tailgate, giving the hatchback a more aggressive and modern stance. The bonnet and front doors have graphics labeled as C3 Sport, furthering the exclusivity.
There is another version of a colour available with a white body shade that provides the buyers with an alternative sporty touch. It is necessary to mention that Garnet Red is an option that can be selected regardless of the Sport Edition, yet the decals and appearance additions were exclusive to the present model.
Features & Interior Tweaks
The Sport Edition, which carries a price tag of 6.23 lakh rupees (ex-showroom), is selling at an additional cost of 21, 000 rupees more than the regular one. There is also Tech Kit that Citroen offers at an optional price of 15,000 rupees that comes with a dashcam, and a wireless charging pad.
Standard with C3 Sport Edition is:
Animated ambient light
Aluminium pedals
Cushioned seatbelts
Sports theme of upholstery ratio seating stitches
Floor mats Extraordinary
The improvements in all these categories are directed at younger consumers who seek a unique and vibrant design.
Performance and Powertrain
The engine that comes under the hood with the C3 Sport Edition is the 1.2L, PureTech 110 turbo-petrol engine with 110 PS and 205 Nm of torque. A buyer has an option of 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Market Outlook
The C3 has been enjoying some eye pleasing updates yet still continues to stagnate with only 333 units shifting in the latest sales figures. Citroen is betting it can bring new life to the appeal and whittle down the inventory of its aging hatchback with the Sport Edition, and will add some successful first-time car buyers to the mix, thanks to a sportier, better-equipped version.
