Chinese automaker BYD has teased the updated version of its e6 MPV, soon to be launched in India. Known internationally as the M6, the facelifted model introduces a range of upgrades, including a refreshed design, enhanced features, and a more powerful powertrain.
The 2024 BYD e6 sports a redesigned exterior, featuring new LED headlamps and DRLs, refreshed front and rear bumpers, and a satin-finished grille. The facelift also includes a new set of alloy wheels and wider tail lights with updated LED signatures, giving the MPV a modern and stylish look.
Inside, the e6 facelift receives a larger 12.8-inch floating touchscreen, replacing the previous 10.2-inch unit. Other interior enhancements include a new steering wheel, a redesigned gear selector dial, and dual wireless mobile chargers. While the international model comes equipped with a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, powered tailgate, and automatic climate control, it's yet to be confirmed if these features will be available in the Indian version.
Under the hood, the updated BYD e6 is expected to feature a 71.8kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor. This marks an improvement over the previous 71.7kWh unit, now delivering 204bhp and 310 Nm of torque—up from 94bhp and 180Nm. Additionally, the driving range has been extended to 530 km on a single charge, up from 500 km in the outgoing model.
The facelifted BYD e6 is set to bring a compelling mix of style, technology, and performance to the Indian EV market, making it a strong contender in the growing segment. Stay tuned for its official launch and detailed feature list in the coming months.
