In India, Land Rover has unveiled the Gemini Edition and Tempest Edition, two new special editions of its Discovery SUV, as part of its 2026 product update. These versions, which cost ₹1.26 crore and ₹1.39 crore (ex-showroom, India), respectively, take the place of the previous Dynamic S and Metropolitan trims.
While giving customers an option between two different models with distinctive features and style, the British luxury SUV manufacturer hopes to streamline the Discovery lineup.
Exterior Features & Design
Gemini Edition
The Gemini Edition is all about subtle elegance. It has silver grille surrounds, silver skid plates with a twin-hexagon pattern, silver-finished 21-inch alloy wheels, and a gloss-black roof.
Among the exterior colors available to customers are Sedona Red, Fuji White, Eiger Grey, and Santorini Black. However, the Tempest Edition has a more upscale and dramatic vibe.
Tempest Edition
A special "Tempest" puddle lamp projection, a Graphite Atlas grille, matching copper roof and bonnet lettering, and dual-tone 22-inch wheels finished in Petra Copper are also included. Charente Grey, Varesine Blue, and Carpathian Grey are some of the eye-catching hues that are offered for this edition.
Features and Interior
Both models' interiors feature premium materials and cutting-edge digital technologies while retaining Land Rover's distinctive luxury. A 12.3-inch digital driver display, an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a high-end Meridian sound system, and a 360-degree camera are all included in the cabin.
With interior themes of Light Oyster or Ebony, the Gemini Edition provides upholstery options in cloth or leatherette. Top-tier features, including a head-up display, a 14-speaker Meridian surround system, four-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel, and power-folding third-row seats, are added to the Tempest Edition, however.
Powertrain & Performance
Both variants are powered by the same 3.0-liter, six-cylinder turbo-diesel engine connected to a mild hybrid system. With a 9-speed automated gearbox and all-wheel drive, the engine generates about 345 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque.
Because of this configuration, the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just over 6.3 seconds, preserving Land Rover's ability to combine luxury and off-road capabilities.
In India's luxury SUV market, where it faces off against the Mercedes-Benz GLE and BMW X5, Land Rover is putting the Discovery in a more prominent position with these new models. In order to appeal to discriminating consumers who appreciate both performance and exclusivity, the portfolio has been streamlined with an emphasis on design distinction.
