Among EV fans, the Cyberster and M9, which are only available through the company's "MG Select" luxury dealerships, have already developed a cult following.
Early allocations are totally sold out, according to dealers in key Indian cities, and prospective buyers are only expected to receive their vehicles by the end of the year.
MG's and Cyberster's Entry into Electric Sports Vehicles
MG's foray into the electric sports vehicle market is marked by the Cyberster. With its 77 kWh battery pack and two electric motors, the stylish two-seater can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, producing 503 bhp and 725 Nm of torque. On a single charge, it can travel up to 580 kilometers (CLTC standard).
Supercar Architecture and Innovative Features
With a former showroom price range of ₹ 72.49 lakh (for customers who pre-booked) and ₹ 74.99 lakh (launch price), the Cyberster rivals luxury EVs like the Porsche Taycan and BMW i4, providing similar performance at a lesser cost. Its design gives it the visual appearance of a luxury supercar with features like scissor-style doors, an AI-powered infotainment system, and a convertible roof.
M9 MPV: Combining Sustainability, Luxury, and Comfort
MG has unveiled the M9, a high-end all-electric MPV targeted at professionals and families looking for a balance between sustainability and comfort, in addition to the Cyberster. It has a 90 kWh battery that can provide 241 bhp and 350 Nm of torque across a range up to 500 kilometers.
With features like ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated captain chairs, and a huge touchscreen console, the M9's interior is all about luxury. Redefining eco-friendly luxury, it competes with vehicles such as the Mercedes EQV and Kia EV9.
Growth in Production and Prospects for the Future
MG has yet to declare an increase in output formally, but industry sources speculate that the company may soon expand operations at its Halol, Gujarat, plant to accommodate the increasing demand. It is anticipated that waiting times will decrease by early 2026 as additional MG Select showrooms are planned to open nationwide.
Both models received overwhelmingly positive feedback, indicating that Indian consumers are prepared for a new era of electric transportation that combines performance, creativity, and sophistication.
The takeaway is apparent for the time being: MG's Cyberster and M9 are the vehicles that everyone desires, even if acquiring one means delaying the future a little.
Delivery Timeline and Waiting Period
According to dealer sources, the official waiting time for the MG Cyberster and MG M9 as of October 2025 is set to run until December 2025. Customers who book the cars now have to wait between 60 and 70 days for deliveries to start.
Due to limited initial production and considerable demand, MG Motor India has scheduled the majority of new deliveries for late November to December 2025.
