2025 Volvo XC90 Facelift to be launched at Rs 1.03 crore

The ex-showroom price of the Volvo XC90 facelift was Rs 1.03 crore when it was first introduced in India. The updated XC90 SUV has a few design and technological improvements over the previous model, but it costs a little more.

The new 2025 XC90 costs Rs 2 lakh more than its predecessor, and it has a mild-hybrid petrol unit with a no diesel engine option, and the SUV will rival the Mercedes GLE, BMW X5 and Audi Q7.

Exterior design of the 2025 Volvo XC90

The Volvo XC90 SUV's general design is still reminiscent of the previous generation. Nonetheless, the all-electric Volvo EX90 served as the model for many of the updated external stylistic features, including as the new alloy wheels, thinner "Thor" hammer headlamps, updated bumpers, darker taillights, and a reworked grille with diagonal slats (see table below for XC90 measurements). If the air suspension is used, the ground clearance increases from 238mm to 267mm.

Interiors and features of Volvo XC90 facelift

The black leather upholstery in the Volvo XC90's interior gives it a recognizable appearance. Volvo's top XC90 model now sports a bigger 11.2-inch touchscreen that can get over-the-air (OTA) upgrades, thanks to Google-based software.

Additionally, the Swedish automaker asserts that the touchscreen's resolution has been enhanced for portrait mode.

The revised model still comes with features like memory seats, a 360-degree camera system, wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, and an air purifier (with a PM 2.5 filter).

Engine and performance of Volvo XC90 Facelift

The same 2.0-liter mild-hybrid turbo-petrol engine, which generates 250 horsepower and 360 Nm of maximum torque, powers the updated XC90. With its 8-speed automated gearbox and all-wheel drive, the Volvo XC90 can accelerate from a stop to 100 kilometers per hour in 7.7 seconds.

Volvo XC90 facelift rivals

The 2025 Volvo XC90 facelift competes with the German trinity of the Mercedes-Benz GLE, BMW X5, and Audi Q7, with the Audi being the most reasonably priced in this market. It costs Rs 2 lakh more than the previous model (Rs 1.01 crore).

Similar to the Q7, Volvo does not provide a diesel engine choice, while the SUVs from Mercedes and BMW are available with both petrol and diesel engines.

Conclusion

The 2025 Volvo XC90 facelift brings subtle yet significant updates in design, technology, and performance while maintaining its premium appeal. With a price tag of Rs 1.03 crore, it costs slightly more than its predecessor but offers enhanced features like a larger touchscreen, OTA updates, and improved styling inspired by the all-electric EX90. Despite the lack of a diesel engine option, the XC90 remains a strong contender in the luxury SUV segment, competing against the Mercedes GLE, BMW X5, and Audi Q7. For buyers seeking a refined, tech-loaded, and safe luxury SUV, the updated XC90 continues to be a compelling choice.
