Zeekr unveils official images of the 9X flagship SUV ahead of Auto Shanghai 2025 Debut

With its styling evoking luxury marques – such as chrome trim and aggressive grille in the style of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan – the Zeekr 9X will be offered with a battery electric powertrain, and there will also be a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant.

Prioritizing cross-spectrum comfort and luxury, the Zeekr 9X takes on an assertive stance with its squared-off, solid lines and full-size dimensions. The company terms it as having a "majestic but not intimidating" design. The front face comes with a big grille that has prominent vertical chrome elements, following in the family design initiated by the Zeekr 009 MPV, while seeking luxury and modesty.

More Information

Side profile is defined by clean, linear lines to build an imposing yet simple look. Towards the back, the 9X features a characteristic "Ring Screen Star Diamond" through-type rear light cluster.

The complex unit of Zeekr is said to have 43,343 separate diamond-cut facets, intended to be very recognizable once lit up. The rear clusters of taillights are called the "Side Wing Star Diamond Matrix," aimed to tie up with the front design.

Technological Advancements

Aside from its beauty, the Zeekr 9X is scheduled to demonstrate a considerable tech upgrade. It will be the initial model to get the G-Pilot intelligent driving solution. This is based on Zeekr's Level 3 autonomous driving architecture and uses the ZEEA 3.0 central computing digital architecture, which has been said to enhance end-to-end communication response speed by 50%.

For sensing, the 9X will use a sophisticated sensor set including five LiDAR sensors – a single long-range LiDAR and four additional short-range LiDARs to cover blind spots – to provide what Zeekr calls "four layers of 360-degree sensing capabilities.

New Powertrain Technology

The 9X will also feature Zeekr's "Super Electric Hybrid" technology. This powertrain technology promises to combine the respective strengths of pure electric (BEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and range-extender (EREV) technologies, with the promise of revolutionary innovation in performance, efficiency, and overall driving experience.

Zeekr has officially confirmed that the 9X can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in the 3-second range, reflecting strong performance credentials.

Pricing and Official Debut

Market positioning segments the 9X squarely in the flagship luxury SUV category. Official pricing will be announced later, but early estimates put the starting price at around 500,000 yuan (68,000 USD). A rumored top-of-the-line "Grand Edition" is said to reach close to the 1 million yuan (136,000 USD) level.

The Zeekr 9X will have its formal public unveiling at Auto Shanghai 2025, which is open on April 23rd at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre. Zeekr's stand will be in Hall 6.1.

Conclusion

With the official release of Zeekr 9X images, the company is making a strong statement in the luxury electric SUV market before its Auto Shanghai 2025 launch. Integrating bold and elegant design language with pioneering technology, such as sophisticated autonomous driving systems and a dynamic hybrid powertrain, the 9X is ready to take on premium competitors. Its unique styling, high-performance capabilities, and multi-layered technology support Zeekr's mission to reimagine modern luxury mobility. With anticipation building for the official launch, everyone will be watching Hall 6.1 to see the next flagship in Zeekr's electrified future.
