Volkswagens Big Comeback 5 Exciting New Models Coming To India By 2025

Volkswagen’s Big Comeback: 5 Exciting New Models Coming to India by 2025!

Volkswagen is gearing up to make a grand comeback in the Indian automotive market with five highly anticipated new models and updates. After a relatively quiet year in 2024, the German automaker is revving up its engines to introduce SUVs, sedans, and even an electric vehicle (EV) that promises to set new benchmarks in their respective segments.

Let’s delve into the details of these upcoming Volkswagen offerings and what makes them worth the wait.

Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace – A Premium 7-Seater SUV

Volkswagen is planning to bring the all-new Tiguan 7-seater to India, built on the updated MQB Evo platform. Although official confirmation is awaited, reports suggest this premium SUV could hit the Indian market by early 2025.

The Tiguan Allspace is expected to arrive as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), leading to an on-road price range of ₹40 lakh to ₹50 lakh in Mumbai.

Under the hood, the Tiguan Allspace will feature a robust 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine that churns out 187 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. This powerhouse will be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) for smooth and responsive performance.

Volkswagen’s decision to prioritize advanced engineering and spacious interiors makes the Tiguan Allspace a solid contender in the growing market for premium SUVs.

Volkswagen ID.4 EV – Entering the Electric Era

Volkswagen’s entry into the Indian electric vehicle (EV) segment will be marked by the ID.4, an all-electric SUV expected to arrive by mid-2025. Based on Volkswagen’s MEB platform, the ID.4 will come with two battery pack options: a 52 kWh variant offering a range of 340 km and a 72 kWh version delivering an impressive 500 km range.

Inside, the ID.4 boasts a futuristic design, highlighted by a large infotainment screen and premium features like Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

With an estimated price range of ₹50 lakh to ₹60 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), the ID.4 will target the premium EV segment, making it a game-changer for Volkswagen’s portfolio in India.

Volkswagen Tera – Compact Yet Capable

Volkswagen is also set to launch a compact SUV named Tera, which shares its platform with the Skoda Kushaq. Recently spotted testing in Argentina, the Tera combines Volkswagen’s distinctive design language with the practicality of a smaller SUV.

The Tera will be based on the MQB A0 IN platform, ensuring modern engineering and driving dynamics. Additionally, the SUV is expected to feature an upgraded interior with premium touches inspired by the Skoda Kushaq. Scheduled to debut in Brazil and Argentina first, the Volkswagen Tera is expected to arrive in India by mid or late 2025.

In terms of pricing, the Tera is likely to fall in the ₹9 lakh to ₹13 lakh bracket (on-road, Mumbai), making it an attractive option for budget-conscious SUV buyers.

Taigun Facelift – A Fresh Look for the Popular SUV

The Volkswagen Taigun, a popular midsize SUV, is getting a facelift in 2025. While the mechanical aspects will remain unchanged, the facelift will bring refreshed front and rear bumpers, redesigned headlights and taillights, and additional feature updates.

One major highlight of the new Taigun will be the inclusion of ADAS, further enhancing its appeal in a safety-conscious market. With cosmetic and technological upgrades, the facelifted Taigun is expected to command a slight price hike, reflecting its enhanced value proposition.

Virtus Facelift – Revitalizing the Sedan Segment

Sedan enthusiasts, rejoice!

Volkswagen is set to launch an updated Virtus by September 2025. This facelift will bring significant cosmetic changes to the sedan’s exterior, including sharper design elements and updated lighting.

Inside, the Virtus will adopt modern features such as a heads-up display, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake, and ADAS.

The Virtus facelift will continue to offer its existing engine options: a 1.5-liter turbo petrol and a 1.0-liter turbo petrol, paired with manual and automatic transmissions.

The updated model is expected to be priced ₹50,000 to ₹60,000 higher than the current version, depending on the variant.

Volkswagen’s Strategy for India

Volkswagen’s upcoming launches reflect a comprehensive approach to catering to diverse customer segments, from premium SUVs to compact SUVs and futuristic EVs. The brand’s emphasis on advanced platforms, premium features, and innovative designs signals its commitment to regaining its foothold in India.

As these models begin to roll out, Volkswagen fans can look forward to a revitalized lineup that blends German engineering with modern-day practicality whether it’s the cutting-edge ID.4 EV or the family-friendly Tiguan Allspace, 2025 promises to be an exciting year for Volkswagen in India.
