Unofficial Reservations Open for the Tata Sierra Before Price Reveal

The new Sierra mid-size SUV has been formally introduced by Tata Motors, and some dealerships have begun taking unofficial reservations even before the official pricing announcement. With several powertrain options and a daring feature set, the Sierra is likely to upend the market. Token prices start at about ₹11,000, and deliveries are anticipated to begin in early 2026.

  • An outline of the Tata Sierra's official reveal and its anticipated launch schedule.

  • Information about how some dealerships have started accepting unofficial reservations, including token amounts, anticipated delivery windows, and approximate prices.

Tata Sierra debuted; later this month, the pricing will be revealed

The production-ready version of the new Tata Sierra has been formally unveiled, and the firm states that its official pricing will be released on or around November 25, 2025.

The internal combustion engine (ICE) model that was unveiled has confirmed diesel and gasoline powertrains. There will eventually be an EV version.

What are we aware of? - The features and specifications

Large machined alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles, a light-bar LED taillight system, and an all-black grille with the "SIERRA" lettering give the Sierra a striking appearance. Its interior features include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a motorized tailgate, a 360° camera, Level-2 ADAS, and a three-panel configuration (infotainment, digital cluster, and passenger screen).

Regarding engines, preliminary reports point to a 2.0-liter diesel (~168bhp, 350Nm) and a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol (~165bhp) for the ICE lineup. The Sierra is expected to cost between ₹11 lakh and ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom).

Unofficial reservations are open; here's what you should know

Some Tata Motors dealerships have started taking unauthorized pre-bookings for the Sierra, even though the official booking mechanism is not yet operational. Customers can join the line before the official launch by making these early reservations. Depending on the dealership, token quantities might range from about ₹11,000 to ₹51,000.

Delivery of officially booked cars is anticipated to start in the first week of January 2026, according to dealership sources.

It's important to remember that whenever Tata opens formal booking and allocation, early unofficial reservations might be turned into official ones. Purchasers should review the conditions and the token's refund policy.

The Sierra's location and its rivals

In the brand's range, the Sierra will come in between the Tata Curvv and the Tata Harrier. Popular mid-size SUVs, including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, and Mahindra XUV700, are expected to compete with it.

Tata seems to be trying for widespread appeal in the cutthroat Indian SUV market with a variety of powertrain options (gasoline, diesel, and electric vehicles) and an attractive feature package.

The Future Timeline of the Sierra: Wait Time, Delivery and Launch

  • The official pricing will be revealed on November 25, 2025.

  • Early token holders may receive priority delivery.

  • Complete specifications and powertrain information, particularly for the EV version, which has been mentioned but not yet explained.

  • Even with early reservations, customers should be prepared for potential wait times due to the high demand in this category and previous Tata releases.
