Toyota Kirloskar Motor Wins Top EEPC Export Excellence Awards

Toyota Motor Corporation is a Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Toyota City, Aichi, Japan that has been recently recognized with two prestigious awards for its outstanding export performance at EEPC India (Engineering

Export Promotion Council of India) Southern Region Export Award ceremony held recently.

Let’s delve into the information below:

Awards and Achievements

TKM received the 'Engines and Turbines & Parts Thereof - Large Enterprise' award for the year 2019-20. In addition, the company was awarded the 'Gold Trophy' for Top Exporters under the Merchant Exporter category for the year 2020-21. These awards are a testament to TKM's consistent excellence and commitment to advancing India's engineering exports. The engineering sector is crucial to the broader manufacturing industry, contributing significantly to the overall output.

The Award Ceremony

The awards were presented during a ceremony in Puducherry by notable figures such as Shri Vimal Anand, Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, Government of India; Shri Arun Kumar Garodia, Chairman, EEPC; Shri Shashi Kiran Lewis, Deputy Regional Chairman, EEPC; and Shri Raman Raghu, Regional Chairman, EEPC. The EEPC India, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, plays a vital role in promoting the Indian engineering sector. It serves as a bridge between the government and the engineering community, aiming to recognize and reward outstanding performances in various engineering export categories.

Criteria for Awards

The EEPC Export Excellence Awards evaluate the best exporters across India based on several criteria, including the Freight on Board (FOB) value of exports, the types of products exported, and the net foreign exchange earned. TKM showed remarkable growth in the FOB value of engine exports in 2019-20. In 2020-21, the company increased its exports under the Merchant Exporter category, which included engines and various parts.

Company Leadership's Response

Mr. G. Shankara, Executive Vice President & Director, Finance and Administration at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, expressed his gratitude for the recognition. He stated, "It is an honor to receive these prestigious awards from EEPC India. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to export excellence and our contribution to the economy of both the state and the nation. We take immense pride in this achievement, which reinforces our belief that world-class quality and customer satisfaction are the key cornerstones of success in this highly competitive market."

Previous Honors

Last year, TKM was also honored with two EEPC National Awards for Export Excellence during the 52nd and 53rd editions of the Awards. These accolades were in recognition of the company's outstanding export performance in the engineering sector.
