Toyota Fortuner Legender Thai Concept Makes A Debut And Gets A Beefed Up Look

Toyota Fortuner Legender Thai Concept makes a debut and gets a beefed-up look.

If one Indian aspirational SUV in the mass segment that the sophisticated buyers of SUVs admire, it has to be the Toyota Fortuner. Particularly the Legender variant positioned above regular Fortuner. In the current BIMS in Bangkok, Toyota has introduced the Fortuner Legender Thai Concept with a more muscular than regular Legender appeal. Let's examine it closely.

Although it does not possess the best performance or the most features or the most equipment or is not the most beautiful or the biggest, the Toyota Fortuner has found itself a huge fan following in India. Big attractions are reliability, off-road capabilities, and primarily its connection with Indian politicians.

At the ongoing Bangkok International Motor Show, Toyota has displayed the Fortuner Legender Thai Concept. It is just a normal Fortuner Legender with a body kit and bigger wheels and nothing else. But the body kit has been executed tastefully and has changed the Fortuner Legender's appearance, making it look significantly beefier than the regular model.

Exterior Updates in the Car

The Toyota Fortuner Legender Thai Concept receives more muscular wheel arch claddings with a geometrical design. These wheel arch claddings are not extended to door claddings but provide a muscular look to this SUV. Also, boosting muscular quotient are bigger 20-inch alloy wheels from Jager in a beautiful gold color.

At the front, a new skirting at the bottom bumper juts out quite far, contributing to the overall presence that Legender already possesses. We get to see a similar skirting at the back, which even has diffuser-like looks. All combined, the Thai Concept elevates standard Legender's attractiveness to an entirely new level.

More Features the new car gets

Since this is not the under-kitted India-spec variant, we can spot features such as 360-degree cameras, a Level-2 ADAS suite with auto emergency braking and adaptive cruise control, and a bigger touchscreen infotainment display, among others. There are also White elements on the door pads on this variant.

Powertrain Details

Where powertrains are involved, the Toyota Fortuner Legender is also equipped with the same 2.8L Turbo Diesel motor in Thailand that can develop 200 bhp of peak power and 500 Nm of peak torque when paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Conclusion

The Fortuner Legender Thai Concept expands on the common Legender's attractiveness with an aggressive body kit and bigger wheels, making its road presence greatly enhanced. Without any mechanical overhauls, the visual changes provide it a more assertive and commanding appearance. With such added features as a 360-degree camera system and Level-2 ADAS, this variant hints at what a higher-spec Fortuner Legender can achieve. India might not get this exact iteration, but it does suggest that upcoming versions of the popular SUV are possible.
