Big Update from FASTag; Customers should do the work before 31st March

If you have a car and you are a user of FASTag, then you should take note of this news. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has specified 31 March 2025 as the end date of the extension for updating the KYC of consumers of FASTag. Unless you update the KYC, on this date, your FASTag will become dormant (get blacklisted) even though your account contains balance.

Big Update from FASTag

According to Reserve Bank of India (RBI) rules, NHAI has enforced the "One Vehicle-One FASTag" policy. It aims to stop the utilization of more than one FASTag on a vehicle and enhance the toll collection process. This will minimize the time spent at the toll plaza, which will make it more convenient for the passengers.

How to update KYC for FASTag

If you wish to update your KYC FASTag, then for this you need to go to the NHAI FASTag website.

  1. Log in by using your registered mobile number and OTP.

  2. Then go to the 'My Profile' option and click on the KYC option and update your details.

  3. If your FASTag is from a bank, then go to the NETC FASTag website.

  4. Choose your bank through which your FASTag has been issued.

  5. Then, renew your KYC details, and press the final submit button.

Important Update for FASTag users

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has established March 31, 2025, as the date to update KYC for FASTag accounts. In case users don't update their KYC on or before that date, their FASTag will be suspended even if there is a balance in their account. It's essential to update your KYC before the deadline to prevent any inconvenience while utilizing the FASTag. If not, then your FASTag will be blocked (blacklisted), even though there is a balance in your account.

Conclusion

If you use FASTag, it is important to update your KYC by March 31, 2025, to continue the service without a break. If not, your FASTag will get blacklisted, irrespective of whether you have a FASTag balance in your account or not. The "One Vehicle-One FASTag" initiative is intended to make the collection of tolls faster and more efficient at toll booths. To prevent any inconvenience to your travel, kindly update your KYC on time by simply following the easy steps given by NHAI or your respective bank.
