Tata Motors is ready to unveil the facelifted Altroz on 21st May 2025. This luxury hatchback, the first Tata model to be based on the ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) platform, went on sale in India in early 2020. It's also India's first hatchback to achieve a 5-star Global NCAP adult occupant protection rating. This will be the second midlife refresh for the hatchback, and it's expected to see very little change on the inside and outside.
Here are 5 major updates that are likely to come to the 2025 Tata Altroz facelift.
Spy Images leaked online
Spy photos show that the new Tata Altroz will be equipped with an extensively redesigned front fascia, with slimmer LED components in the headlamps, a redesigned bumper, and vertical strokes close to the fog lamps, making it a sharper appearance. The side profile will hardly change, but the hatchback will receive redesigned alloy wheels. Just like the headlamps, the taillamps will have new LED components.
More Information
The 2025 Tata Altroz facelift would likely come with a new two-spoke steering wheel, from the Tiago and Tigor.
A bigger 10.25-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support may be added in top trims.
The new Altroz could take the ventilated front seats from the Altroz Racer.
To add to its premium look, Tata could introduce new seat covering and door trim as well.
Powertrain of the new Tata Altroz
There will be no changes under the bonnet. The new Tata Altroz will still be offered with the 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine options. The petrol engine produces 86 bhp and 113 Nm, while the oil burner produces power equivalent to 90 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. The current manual and DCT gearboxes will also be retained in the new Tata Altroz. Furthermore, the CNG fuel type will also be available on the hatchback.
Conclusion
The 2025 Tata Altroz facelift is turning out to be a major upgrade, particularly with upgrades to its design, tech, and overall premium quality. Though the powertrain choices are the same, new design cues, a bigger infotainment screen, and comfort features such as ventilated seats will make the refreshed Altroz even more desirable for buyers. With its established safety track record and a new batch of updates, the Altroz keeps fortifying its position in the premium hatchback segment, which is highly competitive. Everyone's eyes are now on 21st May 2025, when Tata Motors finally unveils the new Altroz.
