The Grand Vitara, Fronx, Ertiga, and Wagon R: Prices to be raised to Rs 62,000

Maruti Suzuki announced that starting from April 8 of this year, the prices of seven models would, in all likelihood, increase by as much as Rs 62,000. The increase would be part of the company's internal notification about last month's increase of 4% on all models. Among the affected models are the Grand Vitara, Wagon R, Ertiga, XL6, and Fronx.

Here are the models affected by the price hike:

ModelPrice Increase
Maruti Suzuki Grand VitaraUp to Rs 62,000
Maruti Suzuki EecoUp to Rs 22,500
Maruti Suzuki Wagon RUp to Rs 14,000
Maruti Suzuki ErtigaUp to Rs 12,500
Maruti Suzuki XL6Up to Rs 12,500
Maruti Suzuki FronxUp to Rs 2,500
Maruti Suzuki Tour SUp to Rs 3,000

The Grand Vitara has the most significant increase, an amount that can go up to Rs 62,000 depending on the variant. Next comes the Eeco van, which will become more expensive by up to Rs 22,500. The owner of a Wagon R will also find it becoming expensive on April 8-increased by up to Rs 14,000.

Prices of Grand Vitara will be increased by as much as Rs 62,000.

Maruti's twins-MPVC Ertiga and XL6-will be facing a price hike of both up to Rs 12,500. The most popular Fronx sub-compact crossover will get the smallest hike in terms of price increase-up to Rs 2,500. All the other models in the range of Maruti Suzuki won't see a rise in prices for now in April.

Eeco prices also see a substantial upward revision-increasing by as much as Rs 22,500.

In the commercial segment, the Dzire-based Tour S will also see a rise of up to Rs 3,000.

According to a filing made with the stock exchange by Maruti Suzuki, one reason for increasing the prices is rising input costs and operational expenditures, in addition to the addition of new features.
