Nexon Establishing the Safety Benchmark: Read Details
Tata Motors has always placed a high premium on safety, and the Tata Nexon is a perfect example of this philosophy thanks to its strong construction, cutting-edge safety features, and creative engineering. From the beginning, Tata Motors wanted to create a car that would be unmatched in terms of safety for its passengers as well as performance and comfort. The end product is a small SUV that sets a higher standard for safety in its category.
According to Global NCAP, in its ten-year-old "Safer Cars For India" campaign, the Nexon has received the second-highest score ever for adult and child occupant safety. The Nexon received a 5-star rating despite the stricter regulations. It received 32.22 points (out of a possible 34) for adult occupancy protection (AOP) and 44.52 points (out of 49) for child occupancy protection (COP).
What are the safety features that secured Nexon a 5-star rating?
The Tata Nexon is equipped with an extensive range of safety features that are intended to offer the highest level of protection to its passengers. Its 5-star GNCAP rating is a result of several important safety features, which include:
High-Strength Steel Structure: In the event of a collision, the Nexon's high-strength steel structure will effectively absorb impact energy and minimize deformation by forming a sturdy safety cocoon around the passenger compartment.
Dual Front Airbags: Standard on all Nexon models, dual front airbags offer the driver and front passenger extra protection in the case of a frontal collision.
Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS): The Nexon has both of these features, which improve stability and performance when braking, particularly in emergencies.
Electronic Stability Programme (ESP): It lessens the chance of skidding and losing control of the vehicle by identifying and addressing instances of oversteer or understeer.
The Nexon facelift complies with Global NCAP's ESC requirements and has seatbelt reminders in all seating positions, meeting UN127 and GTR9 requirements for pedestrian protection. It is equipped with ISOFIX child seat anchors, which offer a safe mounting location for kid seats that are compatible and guarantee the security of younger occupants.
