Tata Motors has confirmed a six-model pipeline for FY27, spanning ICE facelifts, EV facelifts, and two new nameplates, including the Sierra EV.
The premium Avinya brand is set to make its production debut in Q3 and Q4 of FY27, headlined by a large SUV expected to be priced between Rs. 40 lakh and Rs. 50 lakh.
Tata Motors has announced a six-product pipeline for FY27, kicking things off with the Sierra EV, which has been confirmed for Q2 of this financial year. It is a significant moment for the brand, given that the Sierra nameplate carries considerable nostalgic weight in India. The electric version's early placement in the launch calendar signals that Tata wants to build momentum from the outset, rather than saving its bigger names for later in the year.
Safari EV and Festive Season Timing
Also included in the mix is the Safari EV, a long-overdue product that will help Tata go up against the Mahindra XEV 9s. The Safari has always been one of the more aspirational nameplates in Tata's lineup, and an electric version has been a natural progression that buyers have been waiting on for a while.
The Safari EV is expected to arrive during the festive season, which makes commercial sense. Festive periods in India are traditionally the busiest for car sales, and placing a high-visibility launch in that window could give the model a strong opening run.
The Facelift Pair: Familiar Names, Fresh Faces
The pipeline also includes two ICE facelifts and two EV facelifts, though there is no official word yet on which models will receive the updates.
Speculation points firmly towards the Nexon range. The Nexon is Tata's best selling car, and the model has been in its current avatar for almost three years now.
An upgrade in the face of updated competition will really bring the sub-compact SUV back in the game. The other contender is the Tiago, both in its petrol and electric forms.
Test mules of the Tiago facelift have been spotted doing the rounds over the last few months, lending some weight to this possibility. That said, neither the specific models nor their timelines have been officially confirmed.
Avinya Brand Set for a Grand Entrance
The most talked-about chapter of this plan is undoubtedly the Avinya debut. Tata is expected to showcase the Avinya brand and products in Q3 and Q4 of FY27, with the range likely to be the star of the Tata pavilion at the 2027 Bharat Mobility Expo.
Tata is even expected to have a completely separate zone at the auto show dedicated to the Avinya experience.
A Premium SUV to Lead the New Brand
The first car off the Avinya line will be a large SUV, expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 40 lakh to Rs. 50 lakh.
At that price point, it would place Tata firmly in premium territory, competing with a very different set of buyers than those walking into a Nexon or Punch showroom. It represents a bold step, and one that will define whether the Avinya brand can stand on its own as a genuine luxury proposition.
Taken together, FY27 looks set to be one of the most consequential years in Tata's recent history. The company is not merely refreshing existing products; it is building the scaffolding for its next chapter.
