French carmaker Citroen is set to officially debut the much-anticipated Basalt on August 2 in India. Following the debut, prices for the Citroen Basalt will be announced in the following weeks, with deliveries scheduled to begin shortly after.
The Citroen Basalt has been frequently spotted during testing, generating considerable buzz. This coupe will be based on the Citroen C3 Aircross, featuring a familiar Citroen two-slat grille at the front and an aggressive front bumper for a more striking appearance.
From the side, the design elements become more prominent with a distinctive sloping roof. Additional design highlights include flip-up door handles, LED lights, plastic cladding around the vehicle, squarish wheel arches, and stylish alloy wheels.
Inside, the Citroen Basalt will be equipped with several convenience features. These include automatic climate control (auto AC), a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and navigation, wireless charging, multiple airbags, ABS, and more, ensuring a comfortable and safe driving experience.
Under the hood, the Basalt will be powered by a 109bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine. Additionally, there will be an all-electric version available, positioning the Basalt as a direct competitor to the Tata Curvv. The Tata Curvv, which is also available in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric versions, will be unveiled on July 19, with its launch expected next month.
With its launch, the Citroen Basalt aims to make a strong impression in the Indian market, offering a blend of stylish design, advanced features, and versatile powertrain options to appeal to a broad range of consumers.
