In what may be seen as a significant development, recall has been announced to cover 25722 units of popular models Kylaq, Kushaq, and Slavia under Skoda Auto India. The affected vehicles fall under the SIAM recall database and were manufactured between May 24, 2024, and Apr 1, 2025.
The recall could provide cause for alarm, as it was prompted by an issue with the assembly of the rear seatbelt latch or buckle. Reports indicated a possibility that the middle and right-side seatbelts at the back might malfunction during a frontal collision, thus exposing passengers seated at the rear to further injury.
Although Skoda does not go public with its concerns, it is expected that affected owners would be contacted by those in the business for the inspection and free replacement of damaged parts. These services will be done at the authorised Skoda service centres completely free of cost to the customer.
