Simple One has started deliveries of the One in Bengaluru and is on a claimed order book of over one lakh units.
The company says that it has targeted a goal of delivering 100 scooters in June and also said that it plans to expand its network in 40-50 cities with 160-180 stores.
“We are elated to commence deliveries of the Simple ONE, starting with customers in Bengaluru," said Suhas Rajkumar, founder and CEO of Simple Energy. He added, “We are confident that we will be successful in creating a delightful ownership experience and believe that Simple One will revolutionise the segment by creating a greener future."
The Simple One costs Rs. 1.45 lakh for the base variant, and the top paint scheme variant will set you back by Rs. 1.50 lakh. The electric scooter houses a 5 kWh battery that powers an 8.5 kW motor that belts out 72 Nm of torque.
The company claims an IDC range of 212 km, a top speed of 105 kmph, and a 0-40 kmph dash in 2.77 seconds. The electric scooter comes shod with 12-inch wheels wearing tubeless tyres, and tips the scales at 134 kg. Braking duties are done by a 200 mm disc up front and 190 mm at the rear, a telescopic unit does suspension at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. The boot has a 30-litre space.
The IP67 battery takes about 5 hr and 54 minutes to charge up to 80 percent, and the fast charging feature provides 1.5km/min. The electric scooter has all LED lighting, and it is 1900 mm long, 758 mm wide, and 1163 mm tall with a wheelbase of 1335 mm and a ground clearance of 164.5 mm. It has a seat height of 796 mm, accommodating riders of all shapes and sizes.
The electric scooter also gets a 7-inch TFT touchscreen dash with connected tech and Bluetooth tethering, the screen is not that responsive, though. The electric scooter comes with features like geofencing, remote access, navigation, and ride modes, to name a few. The company claims to be sitting on an order pipeline of over one lakh bookings, and deliveries will begin on 6 June in Bangalore and eventually start in the rest of the cities.
The company gives out a warranty of 3 years or 30,000 km, whichever comes first on the motor, vehicle, and battery. Simple One claims 95 percent localisation of the scooter except for the battery cells and a few other components. It will lock horns with the likes of the Ola S1 Pro, Bajaj Chetak, Ather 450X, and TVS iQube to name a few.
