The India subsidiaries of [Renault(https://parkplus.io/new-cars/renault-car/) and Nissan had not been enjoying an easy month in June 2025 with respect to year-on-year (YoY) declines in the range of thousands of units in their storehouses.
Although the overall sales of Renault fell by 26 percent YoY as the company sold 2,625 units, it achieved a slight 5 percent increase in comparison to May of last year.
Nissan did even worse, as the sum of sales decreased to 1,313 units, down by 38% YoY as well and 3% versus the previous month.
Renault Triber is the Run-Away leader, but volumes are lower
Of the three vehicles offered by Renault, the Triber MPV stayed on top, selling 1,421 units. Nonetheless, it saw a 21% decrease YoY, which recorded a slight 1% increase month-on-month (MoM).
Renault Kiger reported 755 units, a YoY decrease of 34 per cent but there was a bit of relief in that the car registered a robust 37 per cent MoM growth over the May sales.
The Kwid, a volume driver, could not sustain itself and it registered only 449 units, a decrease of 26 percent YoY and 17 percent MoM.
The Lone Star of Nissan: The Magnite
At Nissan India, Magnite compact SUV reflects to be the only volume seller of June selling 1,313 units. This number represents a YoY of 38 percent and a MoM of 2 percent.
It is important to note that the X-Trail which was dispatched in May in modest figures of 20 units had no sales recorded in June. The same decline illustrates why Nissan is desperate to produce new goods in the market.
Hope on the Horizon: Upcoming Launches
Regardless of the continued challenge in sales, the two automakers are working hard towards a product-led recovery. Nissan has fixed a four-model plan, comprising an A-segment EV, a B-segment MPV, a C-segment SUV, as well as a premium three-row SUV.
Renault is up to launch a mid-size SUV with the next-generation Duster and its three-row version, which is rumored to be coming in India as the Renault Boreal.
There are also rumors of hybrid motors of both Duster and Nissan equivalent, though official information is yet to be obtained. Meanwhile, the Kiger and Triber are undergoing facelifts, which indicates that the brands are preparing to recapture the lost market share in the fast-changing market dynamics.
