MG Windsor EV Pro Essence Variant Now Available at Dealerships

MG has rolled out the Windsor EV Pro Essence, its newest and most advanced variant, at dealerships nationwide. The model brings a larger battery, new safety tech, and premium features. Available with or without a battery rental plan, it promises enhanced range and comfort for EV buyers looking for a refined, tech-loaded electric vehicle experience.

MG Motor has introduced the Windsor EV Pro Essence as the latest and top-spec addition to its electric vehicle lineup. Now officially available at dealerships, this new variant brings improved range, advanced features, and cosmetic upgrades, aiming to appeal to EV buyers seeking practicality and a more premium ownership experience.

Fresh Design Elements with New Color Options

While the overall styling of the Windsor EV remains consistent, the Essence Pro variant comes with a few cosmetic upgrades.

Most notably, it receives new 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and an ‘ADAS’ badge on the tailgate, hinting at the safety enhancements within. Buyers can also choose from three new exterior shades—Celadon Blue, Glaze Red, and Aurora Silver—which add a modern flair to the car’s presence on the road. Inside, MG now offers a fresh Ivory White and Black dual-tone cabin, elevating the interior ambiance.

Feature-Rich with Enhanced Tech and Safety

The Essence Pro variant packs an extensive feature list, building on the already well-equipped Windsor EV. Key additions include:

  • Powered tailgate

  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities

  • Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

Other existing features carried over from the standard Pro variant include:

  • 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system

  • 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster

  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

  • 9-speaker Infinity sound system

  • Ventilated front seats with power adjustment

  • Wireless phone charging

  • 135-degree reclining rear seats

  • Connected car technology

In terms of safety, the car is equipped with:

  • Six airbags

  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS

  • Hill Start Assist and Descent Control

  • Electronic parking brake with auto hold

  • 360-degree camera and rear parking sensors

Powertrain and Battery Options

The MG Windsor EV is now available with two battery pack choices. The new Essence Pro variant gets a larger 52.9 kWh battery, which delivers a MIDC-rated range of 449 km—a significant upgrade over the 332 km range offered by the existing 38 kWh pack.

Despite the difference in battery size, both variants use the same 136 PS electric motor, generating 200 Nm of torque.

Standard Variant38 kWh136 PS200 Nm332 km

Pricing and Ownership Options

MG has introduced a flexible pricing model for the Windsor EV Pro Essence. Buyers can choose between a battery rental plan or full ownership:

  • With Battery Rental: ₹13.10 lakh + ₹4.5/km (ex-showroom)

  • Without Battery Rental: ₹18.10 lakh (ex-showroom)

The introductory price of ₹12.50 lakh for the first 8,000 units has already been fully claimed within 24 hours of launch.

Rivals and Segment Positioning

The Windsor EV Pro continues to compete with models like the Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV400, and MG ZS EV, offering a middle ground between value-driven compact EVs and larger premium electric SUVs. With its blend of affordability, extended range, and robust feature list, the new Essence Pro makes a compelling case for buyers wanting a practical yet sophisticated electric vehicle.

With the launch of the Essence Pro, MG is pushing the Windsor EV deeper into the mainstream, offering more range and tech without straying far from its price-conscious positioning. Interested buyers can now visit their nearest dealership for bookings and test drives.
