This month, MG Motor is ready to launch its luxury electric MPV, the MG M9, into the Indian market, which will be the company's first product in its new premium sub-brand, MG Select.
Aiming at high-end competition in terms of vehicle, Toyota Vellfire or Kia Carnival, the M9 will be available in one top trim level called the Presidential Limo and will come with complete comfort, safety, and technology features.
Its Indian Debut is MG Select
MG Select is a new premium division of MG Motor that aims to launch high-end and global-inspired electric cars. It is the initial product of this brand, and the release of the M9 in India is a point at which the luxury electric mobility solutions of MG begin to take shape.
Range and powertrain
At the heart of MG M9 is a 90kWh battery pack powering a front-wheel-drive (FWD) electric motor generating 245bhp and 350 Nm of torque. MG boasts that it has a very 548 km range on one charge, which makes it one of the longest-range electric MPVs on the market in the country.
It has nothing to do with the limited power and range; this electric MPV offers security as well. The India variant of the M9 comes with a five-star Euro NCAP rating on its crash-test rating, a feature that makes it an attractive choice to both families and corporate buyers.

Safety and Driver Assist Features
The M9 has an up-to-date Level 2 ADAS package with over eight advanced driver assistance features. These systems are in collaboration with:
Seven airbags
ABS having EBD
Traction Control Programme (TCP)
Such characteristics have been provided with a substantial amount of passive and active safety, which makes all people feel calm and safe.
Comfort Interior and Luxury
There is a reason why the MG M9 is referred to as the Presidential Limo. Targeted at people who need luxury in the back seat, M9 features high-end amenities and materials in the cabin.
Important indoor features are:
Three-zone automatic climate control
Powered second-row captain seats with massage, Ottoman support and Individual entertainment screens
Optional rear-seat entertainment system
Panoramic sunroof
13-speaker JBL audio system
Tan leatherette upholstery
Connected car technology with a voice assistant
64-colour ambient lighting
Digital IRVM (Inside Rear View Mirror)
Slidable third-row seating
55-litre frunk (front trunk)
Presidential Limo is designed to be something more than a transport car, it is an on-the-road lounge.
Outside Design and Centre Colour Choice
At the visual level, the M9 strikes as a low-profile car with low arrangements of the LED head-lamps, sizeable power sliding doors, and a smooth slim rear look with the narrowly connected tail-lamps. The imposing road appearance is augmented by huge alloy wheels and a stone monolith side profile.
There are three high-quality exterior colours to select from on the part of customers:
Pearl White
Concrete Grey
Metal Black
All colors accentuate the luxury image of the M9 by making it look exclusive.
The launching timing and pricing
This MG M9 is likely to be sold in the range of 60 lakh to 70 lakh(ex-showroom). At this price, MG is obviously aiming at the premium segment of the MPV market and will compete with such models as Toyota Vellfire or Kia Carnival, yet the fully-electric propulsion system and ultimate luxury features are up its sleeve.
Conclusion
The top-spec MG M9 becomes a leader in terms of luxury and high technology in the segment of MPVs in India. Being the initial product under the umbrella brand of MG Select, M9 is not only a launch, but also the start of the new premium EV era in India.
