The teaser of a revamped model of the EQS – the EV version of Mercedes-Benz’s most prominent electric vehicle – has been revealed by the premium luxury brand before the official premiere. To eliminate the adverse effects on the model's recent sales the EQS will now offer customers a choice of 2 grilles, including a classic one with a Tesla-esque appearance that resembles the well-known Mercedes-Benz styling.
The new EQS system will appear with an improved version of the factory standard “panel grille.” There are two types of grille available, one of which is the brand-new traditional grille dress with a Mercedes-Benz logo on its bonnet. CEO Ola Kallenius highlighted the need to satisfy all requirements, and explained: "Some [potential buyers] will be keen to keep a sporty look and display the star on the central panel, and others foresee more traditional options as well".
Besides the grille alternatives, the EQS will get a supply pump in the engine with rare earth elements for performance with new battery chemistry. This is considered a major improvement as it is expected to considerably increase the vehicle's range. Using a natural disaster as a primary setting allows the author to convey the devastating effects it has on individuals and communities.
Through the characterization of various characters dealing with the aftermath of a disaster, the author highlights the emotional turmoil, physical strain, economic disparities, and social challenges that come with such disasters. Not only the new battery of the existing EV, which is used in both EQS and EQS SUV, has been expanded from 108kWh to 118kWh and pushed the range close to 800km but it also gives a new range to the existing EQS sedan.
Kallenius mentioned that in the EQS there will be an opportunity to introduce more spacious and comfortable seats which would be called "executive seats” and an added value to the basic car version. Furthermore, the executives’ positions were not detailed; it was said that they would do away with the rear bench and instead install a pair of individual reclining seats.
Consequently, the choice to refurbish the EQS is due to the ongoing scene being very new with the latest electric models. The sale of the EQS asks a lot of the company, last year it was decided to completely modify it to meet the changing requirements of consumers.
In India, the Mercedes-Benz EQS is offered in two variants, EQS 450 and AMG EQS 53, with prices starting at Rs 1.62 crore (ex-showroom).
The updated Mercedes EQS is slated to be available overseas from June onwards, with the production of cars featuring the new battery expected to commence earlier. With its revamped design and improved performance, the EQS aims to reclaim its position as a frontrunner in the luxury electric vehicle segment.
