Maruti Suzuki to strategize E-Vitara as a Primary EV

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, the automaker's first electric vehicle in the nation, is scheduled to arrive in stores in March 2025. The OEM is getting ready to set up sufficient charging infrastructure and improve after-sales services by implementing a leasing program and providing a variety of financing choices before it enters the market. The Indo-Japanese carmaker intends to install fast chargers in the top 100 cities across the country at 10-kilometer intervals.

Maruti Suzuki India's Senior Executive Officer of Marketing & Sales, Partho Banerjee, stated in an online media outlet that the business wants to establish the Maruti e Vitara as their main commuter. "Good after-sales support" is essential to achieving this. In 1,000 cities, Maruti Suzuki intends to provide after-sales services.

According to reports, Maruti Suzuki's Gujarati manufacturing plant will start producing the e Vitara later this year. Both domestic and international markets will be served by this production facility.

Service on Wheel Support for Remote Areas

The automaker intends to implement a "Service on Wheels" program to address technical problems and breakdowns in locations without access to after-sales support to deliver satisfying services. Maruti Suzuki will install more than 300 of these mobile units to make this possible.

Details of Powertrain in E-Vitara

Two battery pack options—49kWh and 61kWh—that can produce 144bhp and 174bhp, respectively, will be available for the Maruti e Vitara. With the larger battery pack, the two-motor AWD arrangement will be an option, but the single electric motor will be the standard. According to Maruti Suzuki, the high-spec version of their forthcoming electric SUV would have a range of more than 500 kilometers.

This car to be the first Maruti Car with ADAS

Co-developed with Toyota, the new Heatect-e platform serves as the foundation for the new Maruti EV. In addition to the normal seven airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, and electronic parking brake, it will be the first Maruti Suzuki in India to have the Level 2 ADAS suite. Along with many other cutting-edge innovations, it will also offer Suzuki Connect, which has over 60 features.

Conclusion

Therefore, The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is the automaker's first electric vehicle in the nation, and is scheduled to arrive in stores in March 2025. The OEM is getting ready to set up sufficient charging infrastructure and improve after-sales services by implementing a leasing program and providing a variety of financing choices before it enters the market.
