Maruti Suzuki has successfully concluded the North Zone qualifying leg of the exciting Rock N’ Road 4X4 Masters championship. This unique off-roading championship, launched in Delhi on January 27 and followed by Chandigarh on February 3, is exclusively designed for passionate Jimny owners who are eager to put their off-roading skills to the test.

The Rock N’ Road 4X4 Masters championship brings together like-minded adventure enthusiasts, creating a platform for them to explore and showcase the full capabilities of their Jimny SUVs in conquering challenging terrains. The recent North Zone qualifying leg witnessed enthusiastic participation from the vibrant cities of Delhi and Chandigarh.

The Rock N’ Road 4X4 Masters championship is structured in two phases – qualifiers held across 8 cities, followed by a grand finale set to culminate the season in Goa. Jimny owners participating in the event can showcase their off-roading prowess in two categories – stock vehicles and modified vehicles. Participants in the qualifiers are required to complete eight challenges, known as Special Stages (SS), over two days of intense competition.
These Special Stages are carefully designed to evaluate the participants' off-road driving skills, minimizing penalties while ensuring the safety of the vehicles and participants. The challenges include navigating ascents, descents, and undulations across varying off-road terrains, providing a comprehensive test of the participants' familiarity with their Jimny and their physical abilities in undertaking recovery activities such as manual winching.
An independent panel of supervisors, consisting of seasoned members from the Indian off-roading community, judges the participants in the Rock N’ Road 4X4 Masters championship. One winner from each category of the qualifier categories will progress to the grand finale, scheduled to take place in Goa on March 23, 2024.
Along with other exciting prizes, the top two winners of the Rock N’ Road 4X4 Masters championship will stand a chance to experience global off-roading events, enhancing the overall appeal of this thrilling event. The first leg of the qualifiers for Rock N’ Road 4X4 Masters commenced in Delhi on January 27, where Manav Arya and Shantanu Grover emerged as winners in the stock and modified categories, respectively.

The Chandigarh qualifiers saw Gurmeet Virdi and Mankaran Singh Bhambra emerge victorious in the modified and stock categories, respectively. As the championship progresses, upcoming qualifier rounds are scheduled to take place in Shillong, Hyderabad, Vagamon, Bengaluru, and Mumbai & Pune. The grand finale is eagerly awaited in Goa, promising to be a culmination of off-road expertise, thrill, and a sense of adventure.
